Pendra's Fish and Chip Shop in South Somerset

Still very slow for orders and waiting outside food good quality

Cod very poor but chips were nice, but very Expensive, I won't be rushing back 😥

Perfectly cooked lovely piece of fish and really nice chips, not too soggy, the batter on the fish was great too crispy and tasty but didn't overpower the fish.

Nice little chippy ideal to take your meal by the river behind the car park and eat there. Staff are really friendly and professional. Enjoy speaking and learning Mandarin with the Chinese lady. Peace.

Our regular chip shop. They do a lovely fish cakes and cod roe, as hubby likes them. Sometimes he'll have fish. Fresh battered fish and fresh crispy chippy's, is always a thumbs up. Also, pea fritter's nice, crispy and fresh. We don't use our town chippy, cos their foods not as good as Pendra's. It's worth going for good chippy shop, out of town.

Very disappointed tonight 230421. Tried to ring to pre-order as we usually do but the phone rang & rang for well over 10 mins on 3 occasions & no one answered! When we got there the queue was about 10 people long with probably the same amount of people having ordered & waiting! We decided to got to Tony’s at Somerton & have now found our nee local fish & chip shop! The fish was large & very tasty, nice chips & a similar price. Sorry Pendra’s but had you answered the phone, this wouldn’t have happened!

Been using Pendras a long time. Even before it's been taken over. Not too bad at first, but last 3 weeks awful. Phone the order and time given. Get there and have to wait. Chips soggy and fish not good. Cod bites twice but couldnt eat them. Fish last time. Didnt eat it. Tonight pre ordered had to wait. Sausages were cold . Chips just full of oil and mushy .In future will be driving even further to Somerton to Tony's. At least we know we will get brilliant cooked to order fish and chips. Wont be going to Pendras again. Lastly listening to the people in the queue. Noone was happy with the way they had to wait even after pre ordering. Staff looked different as well. And fryer needs lessons on frying.

2/06/2021. Just had Cod and Chips from here, absolutely awful, the chips were like soggy scraps and the batter on the fish was greasy. Not impressed by the quality of the food and certainly not Impressed with the price. Won't be visiting again.

Extremely bad!!! Not only did they forget some of our order, the greasy fish was all put into one wrap where the oil was seeping through the double layer wrap it was also stone cold and stuck together, I will NOT be visiting again as the last 3 times I've been it has been terible

Popped in a few times and it's been wonderful! It's lovely to see that the new owners have settled in well. The food is good, not greasy or fatty and fresh.They're very attentive too and the lady at the front even put salt and vinegar on both my fish and chips, wrapped together, separately. Cheesy chips are delicious and the batter holds up.All in all, they're just as good, if not better, than the previous owners!
