Skippers in South Somerset

A very warm and friendly welcome from Roody. Yet to return to try the food, but was made a special Skippers rum cocktail which was delicious!Lots of great ideas to come, watch this space?! Looking forward to returning again soon.

Owners and staff are really welcoming nothing is to much trouble and made to feel at immediately. I've eaten and drank all over the country and never been made to feel so comfortable anywhere I'm sure they are here to stay as long as we do our bit. So come on you lot the skippers is the place to eat and drink

I called in for breakfast about 11.15 on April 28th 2022 so this review is up to date unlike any earlier ones that found fault and are outdated to before the new people took over.Most impressed with everything.Welcome greeting, staff, food, coffee, menus and prices etc.Early mornings in pubs most staff seem to be busy doing other things at back of house leaving any customers on their own in an empty room but Rudi, the man behind the bar here was very friendly but not idle at any time.Whoever made mybreakfast is certainly a good cook/chef.It was excellent.I genuinely couldn't find anything to criticise with this pub even if I was Victor Meldrew (my family say I am 😁)If you haven't been to Skippers recently I would suggest a visit is well worth it. Wonderful friendly welcome, just as it says on the door, great reception.Fabulous food, all day breakfast wonderful, fresh, quality ingredients. Cajan wrap delicious, tasty and very large.Decor very tasteful and warming.Good luck to you both on your new venture!Definitely we will be back when this way again.Thanks for making our day.

Newly refurbished and under new management. Excellent Sunday carvery, masses of meat!!!! Friendly and courteous service from the staff and lovely inside. Prices pretty good too. Parking available outside.
