Summer Palace in South Somerset

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Prompt and speedy, could of been more chips in the portion but good nonetheless.

Was told food would be ready in 45 minutes went there on time to end up waiting a further 30 minutes!! No apology or anything and was just left to stand there with no update or apology for the delay!! Bbq chips were revolting barely any sauce on them at all! Meat spring rolls were the smallest I've ever been given from any Chinese! Noodles undercooked! Could tell chicken balls were sat a while! Shredded beef has no flavour at all! Definitely avoid!!

Without a doubt the worst Chinese we’ve had ever! Beef dishes looked like dog food. There was no flavour to any dish and after a few mouthfuls, the rest ended up in the bin!

Having read the reviews of this Chinese takeaway, I am very surprised that people do not like the food. The other Chinese in Wincanton is terrible and we never order food from there. We have been ordering from this Chinese for years and never had a bad meal. Tasty, succulent and flavoursome.It’s the best Chinese takeaway in Wincanton.

I rarely leave reviews but this takeaway was absolutely outstanding. As a former chef myself in my younger years you can truly tell when a meal has been made with care, time and love. The food was fresh, duck well seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper. Absolutely out of this world. Phenomenonal food, likely one of the best takeaways in Wincanton without a doubt.

I've never been one to keen on asian cuisine but after taking a few bites of food from this takeaway, I instantly became addicted. The seasoning, fresh and flavorful food truly makes this takeaway stand out from all the others. The staff were very bubbly as well and were able to get a few jokes from me (regardless of being very busy.) Great and well rounded food. Will definitely eat again.

Absolutely revolting! I went back with the food for a refund and to explain the issues with the food. This was done in a calm manner and the lady on the counter was Very aggressive and I had to talk to the chef to sort the issue out. She tried to give me £4 refund for £15.50 worth of food. I ended up with a full refund after the chef admitted his faults and eventually rectifying the issues. He was great to be fair but will not be returning.I had a meal for 1AMy PREGNANT partner had king prawn chow mein and the noodles were raw.Thus returning for a refund and concerned about the hygein here. From what I saw, it was very dirty in fact and will not recommend. I'd go as far to say that I'd highly NOT recommend as it's horrid.AVOID GUYS! GO TO THE SHOP ON SOUTH STREET

Went to visit my family which were living just outside of Wincanton. We felt a little peckish and the need to treat ourselves so we explored the town. Even though the outside may not look the most appealing (however, compared to the outside of Lotus Flower it really isn't that bad.) Ordered some spring rolls, curry chips and prawn crackers. Absolutely impeccable food. Everything's well priced, staff were just wonderful and so very pleasant. To be honest, I might come visit the town more often just to get more food from theirs.
