The landlord makes you feel very welcome and after a kitchen refurbishment they will be doing food so it will be even better

Experienced landlord and staff, good selection of beers and cider, excellent service during lockdown. This pub has a great ambience.

Staying close by, short drive out, The Choughs looked good. Homely, bright and warm atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Made a return visit.Recommend.

I was so excited when I heard this place had young new management, but I shouldn't have bothered. Under stocked,since day one, nothing happening there, empty week after week, attracting no new custom whatsoever, staff are friendly enough but just serve, and then go back to their permanent little clique, talking with each other, and nothing else. All this place really is, is a place for three or four best friends to have a roof over their heads....

Great historical and indeed traditional pub. Had to sing Neil Diamond, Love on the Rocks and Robbie Williams, Angels all washed down with cider. I will return (Springwater).

Food very good value for money. Very acceptable quality - only complaint that mash potato had some lumps in it! Staff very polite and attentive for this sort of dining experience (order and pay for food at the bar). I did find it a bit strange that they don't appear to serve desserts, though.
