Only stopped off for a quick drink and to to meet relatives who live nearby. Quiet at the time but it was nice that the landlord took the time to have a chat without forcing himself on you.Menu looked interesting for meals and reasonable prices. Old style village pubwith a few bits updated.I will probably go again next time we visit.

This review appears on the website of Westport Farm Cottages, a provider of holiday lets just 3 miles from the Crown Inn: "A true community pub, set in the lovely village of Fivehead. The Crown Inn offers a really useful shop service for locals and visitors. You can order a newspaper for the duration of your stay, or just pop in on the chance that they have a spare of the publication of your choice. While you are there you can stock up on milk, bread, cheese and a few cans of basics. Shop items are available throughout pub opening hours! Also available is a take way fish & chips service which runs from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive. The Crown is closed on Mondays. It boasts original flagstone floors, a traditional pub skittle alley and a vast inglenook fireplace with original bread oven. Warm and cosy in winter, the Crown also features an outside area where you can enjoy a meal and a few drinks in the summer. Food is appropriately priced pub classics. The Crown is a free house and offers a changing range of ales, lagers and ciders. It is very welcoming to walkers, dogs with well behaved humans, and anyone who wants to experience a slice of village life." Highly recommended.
