The Old Bakehouse in South Somerset

Lovely setting, Adam an exceptional asset to the place. Small things let this place down, frozen butter with bread that can’t be spread. I ordered a cod dish and was given trout without being asked if this replacement was ok. Certain garnishes not listed on menu so found out the hard way when the meal come out drizzled in a garnish that I can’t stand. I also don’t like the fact a 10% service charge is added, this should be the customers decision. Usually eat here 4 times a week with a friend but will be shopping around now.

I used to love visiting this place, but have found the service provided by the new owners sorely lacking. Nell's attitude was rude and abrupt, and at times so hostile and dismissive, that it left me questioning whether they have much care for customer service and perception. I'm so disappointed that I won't be dining here again. We're lucky that we have numerous other establishments in the area, which will be much more welcoming of my custom.

What's not to love about The Old Calf Shed. One of the best breakfast experiences I have had in a long time. Such a beautiful location and setting. The restaurant's decor is lovely and a warm welcome awaits. Service efficient and in no way pushy. The best oat milk flat white and that broccamole WOW!!! Very much recommend a visit. Top Job X

Great service. Excellent food. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make our time there enjoyable.

My son and I have visited The Old Calf Shed about 2 to 3 times in the last few days , always greeted by a very pleasant lady with long dark hair , who I belive is the owner. Today she was replaced by a man who served us Having completed the meal the man spun the bill across the table towards my son and then walked away .The gesture was to say the least hostile and abrupt.Also we ordered lemon drizzle cake which was dried out , the lemon had morphed into a hard crust I think the slices were passed their sell by date

Breakfast was INCREDIBLE. Staff are super friendly. Will definitely be back
