Called in at lunchtime with a friend. Wow !!, what a find, a lovely village pub serving excellent food. A very pleasant experience thanks to Ashleigh (our waitress) who was very friendly and efficient, .

Great country pub. Good honest pub food with a touch of the gourmet about it. Proper, tasty homemade pies with more filling than pastry. Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Great pub food just what we needed from having a long drive Veggie lasagne was great. Lady behind bar (did not catch her name but bright hair) a lovely woman and very welcoming. Thank you for making us so welcome we will be back if ever in the area

Sadly this was not great. Spur of the moment decision to pop in for food. Very little atmosphere and was so cold I kept my coat on. Our table was sticky which is never a good start and one of chairs was wobbly. Ordered the curry special which was unfortunately very bland with chicken so tough it was hard to cut, rice was well overdone and not very pleasant. Would have been better off with a supermarket ready meal to be honest. Such a shame as staff were nice and it is ideally situated. Come on Podymore, sort your menu, give everything a good clean, light a fire and put some music on.

Lovely traditional pub, family run, family and dog friendly. Good quality pub food, reasonably priced. Perfect for a stop to the west country, just off the A303. We'll be back 👍

Fantastic meal and real ale - Butcombe - the beef and chilton pie was delicious so to was the casquan chicken 👍👍👍👍🍽🍺👍 staff were lovely and welcoming 👍

We were staying on a stopover on the way to Devon at the Travelodge down the road and were meeting up with our son and his family.There were 10 of us,including 6 children from 4 to 11.They had set up some tables in the bar ,but we decided to sit in the gazebo outside near the small play area re the children.There were heaters over the table to keep us warm.Nothing was too much trouble.A nice selection of food and drink.No trouble with the food order as can normally happen and all dishes were delicious,especially the pies.A nice little pub and very clean.
