A superb spot for a pub.Beautiful surroundings and views. The pub itself is clean with plenty of room for multiple groups. It is very much geared to provide a thoughtful welcome to families, ramblers and particularly dog walkers. There are boot scrappers at the door and dog water bowls at every table outside. There is a good selection of drinks including beer direct from the barrels - all well kept. The food is well presented and quickly prepared.Staffing is to an appropriate level and they are friendly, swift and helpful.Pricing is about where I would expect it to be for such a popular establishment.I've visited here twice and will definitely be back again.

Great venue. They could clean tables and clear plates a bit quicker, we sat at a table with tomato sauce in it and it stayed there. But I can't fault anything else.

Our very first visit here and it's an hidden gem!The sun was shining and it felt quite warm so we decided to have lunch in the garden. We were told that there would be a 50 minute wait...so hubby bought a couple of drinks and a couple pkt of crisps to keep us going while we waited! This is obviously a dog friendly pub/beer garden and a few dogs did get a bit ratty but they were soon sorted out. Unlike a couple of mischievous children that were soon taken to the car!Our food arrived and was definitely worth the wait!! Hubby had ham, double egg, chips and peas..whereas I went a bit exotic with the Pimm's chicken, mint, cucumber and strawberry salad. With a side of sweet potato fries. The salad could have done with more strawberries...but it was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it!!The disabled toilet needs a little updating but is adequate if you don't need to use the wheelchair for everything! The emergency pull cord should be 3mm from the floor...incase someone should fall. The handle was also broken. This can all be easily rectified.I'm looking forward to another visit sometime soon :)

This is only a few miles off the A303 and stopped off here for lunch. Its near Ham Hill which has stunning views over the Somerset levels. The pub is dog friendly and there a nature reserve across the road. The menu for dogs is limited to biscuits, but humans have a good menu, traditional British pub grub, good value and tasty to boot. Well worth a visit.

Love this place! Dogs everywhere, warming fire, lovely food! As good in the winter after a dog walk as in the summer sat outside with a cider. I think I will spend more time here from now on!

We came to the area for a family walk and we had great time. After couple of hours in a glorious weather it was so nice to sit down and have some food. However "some " is massive understatement. Menu was really attractive and I found it quite difficult to pick just one meal, but finally I went for fish and chips.... WOW!!! That was amazing! I absolutely loved it! There is a natural playpark nearby and the pub is very dog friendly. I can only say, great place and thank you for your hard work ⭐

Had a lovely pint of thatchers haze after an evening walk through the woods for about 2 miles, nice place to relax and chill.Just added some more pictures, from recent and early morning walks, scenery in the early morning can be really stunning. 😊
