The Tippling Philosopher in South Somerset

A fantastic village pub with great food. The Sunday lunch is awesome and portions are very generous. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

I found this pub to be quite soulless. Noisy locals and too brightly lit. In its favour was a good well kept pint of Doombar and the price was fair.

Had coffee and then lunch with family. Food and drinks all good. Staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

One of my favourite pubs in the whole world, great friendly atmosphere and the food is exceptional value and quality. Glad it's open again and done so in a safe way for both the staff and the patrons

Well, it's been a fair while since I've been here, so things may have changed, but I think they deserve a review. We used to come by the Philosopher for a few drinks and to play pool- I can't remember but I'm pretty sure the pool was free and they had a darts board too. The drinks that we had were always cheap by today's standards, the staff were always friendly, and the atmosphere is a really nice, warm one.

Started off on the wrong foot when we were ignored at the bar. We were ready to walk away had we not already booked.The food was great and reasonably priced. We plan on going back for another meal. Hopefully the first impressions a second time around are better than the first.Car par is very small but there are a free free car parks near by.

Warm, friendly atmosphere. The Landlord was very welcoming. Nice choice of food, well cooked and presented. Had a family skittles competition in the traditional skittles alley which was great fun!

Friendly, good beer and Nobby's nuts! What more could you ask for!?
