An attractive pub with lots of positives: well appointed, good car parking and quiet village setting. However, we went there for an afternoon real ale and this was well below standard. It appeared the barman had not been taught how to pour real ale into a glass resulting in a lot of head that took ages to fill, and, my first choice of ale was off. I gave the pub 3 stars initially but have increased it to 4 as the owner took the trouble to contact me and, to be fair, we didn't have any food. I will go there again if I pass through the village and, hopefully, the real ale situation will have been resolved.

Had a fantastic roast dinner on my first visit to this place. I found all the staff very polite and very helpful. I have been back again and had an absolutely Amazing jerk chicken burger and fried plantain, out of this world! It's become my new go to 🍗🍗🍗😁😁

Something different! Great mix of food styles plus good real ale. Genuinely friendly people serving proper homemade food, both English & Caribbean. Nice atmosphere ~ would definitely go back, 100%.

Very friendly service, and great with my child. Tasty zesty food, with enough kick to be noticed yet not overpowering! Chef came out to see we were well fed and looked after - this is such a refreshing touch of service these days, thank you! We shall return soon

Lovely meal with an interesting selection of Caribbean food plus some regular pub grub.

Breakfast was nice. Checking in was a bit slow. Room was a bit old fashion and needed updating. However was only 3 and half stars and was only £110 per night. Bathroom needed a better clean. Marks on floor by toilet and hair on the tap.

Nice welcome, nice evening meal. Friendly welcome BUT it was very noisy at night, people shouting and talking until 3.30am! Breakfast the following morning was a bit of a shambles. We were ignored until we spoke up. Items missing from breakfast, no bowls or cutlery. Shame really. Staff worked hard to cover everything. Presume they're suffering from the staff shortages that are currentlydogging the hospitality industry

Well a little place of magic, somehow feel I should keep it a secret but that's not fair. We were greeted by Asheba (hope that's correct spelling) a little Ray of sunshine and shown our delightful room. In the evening we enjoyed the bar area and were treated to a wonderful Caribbean theme throughout, soft reggie music, highlighted by Marley, could not be better, took me back to my youth. Very comfortable night and breakfast was so very very good, again a slight Caribbean touch to a veggie breakfast, brilliant, again the chef made a point of coming in and talking, another, friendly, professional touch. Can't thank you enough and we absolutely will be back soon.

We stayed here the night before a family wedding in local village. The staff were very welcoming, helpful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble.A lovely old building with covered outside seating area. Good menu both English & Caribbean food, delicious & very nicely presented.Room had tea/coffee/biscuits. WiFi/ TV/ toiletries.Given 4 stars as room decoration a little tired and shower a little slow.Considering they were short staffed and fully booked, they did an amazing job of looking after their customers. Thank you.🙂

Delicious food, lovely staff. We stopped to eat here on the way back from Devon Aug 2021 after first visiting several times about 10 years ago . We had heard that it had changed hands and that there was a Caribbean influence. It will definitely stay on our places to eat list when we are in the area, and hopefully as money and time allows the décor will match the menu. Great place 😊
