My partner and I had a very good experience at Osip. The tasting menu was excellent. We did the 6 course option which was more than enough food for us. We didn’t do the wine pairing as we were driving but we tried their in-house cider that was delicious. The wait staff were charismatic and knowledgeable. The restaurant certainly deserves its Michelin star and I look forward to coming again. The price is also very good.

Superb innovative mainly plant based cooking. Some very clever dishes, all extremely tasty. Only slight criticism is that servings are on the small side. I know it's multi course fine dining, but making the portion sizes a little bigger would make this just about the perfect restaurant!

Amazing many-course taster lunch at Osip today, in the quaint town of Bruton. Attention to detail doesn't come close to describing it. Each dainty plate served in/on hand thrown pottery, often arriving on a huge tray held by one member of staff, whilst another placed the dishes carefully before us whilst talking us through what was being served. There was a heavenly tempurer fried Jerusalem artichoke with black garlic and togarashi, near the beginning which was sublime. And the white onion custard with a wild garlic froth was a revelation. The Herb ice-cream wasn't to my taste, but it was beautifully presented, nestling on Italian meringue with tarragon oil. (see photos - it came with a slice of Tarte au citron). The staff were friendly and helpful, and all made eye contact whilst serving - something of a rarity in hospitality these days.Very carefully thought out decor, from the neutral monochrome dining room, to the ecrue, collarless shirts and aprons of the waiting staff, right through to the wash room (downstairs - people with mobility issues should check out what alternative facilties there are)And the relief of hearing that the only coffee they offer is filter, or tea - no decisions to be made 😊 Served with petits fours - tiny financiers topped with popcorn cream - see photo. If you can afford it, you should put it on your list.NB photos don't do the presentation justice 🙄

What an amazing and pleasant restaurant this is! Unexpectedly good for such a small town as Bruton, the team impressed from start to finish. Help in making the reservation flexible, excellent engaged service and a pleasant atmosphere overall made this restaurant justify its Michelin star. It is far better than several better-awarded restaurants in London. The tasting menu was superb in both quality and quantity – building to a crescendo of flavours which all built on each other and complemented each other well; they were clever without being pretentious or overpowering. The wine pairing was actually the best I have ever experienced out of hundreds of tasting menus because each was well chosen to match with the dish – something which, amazingly, many other restaurants don’t always get right. The most memorable dish overall was the fish which was cooked to perfection and served with leaks. All the vegetables were outstanding also. Kudos to the team of this very special restaurant in the Somerset countryside.

I went for the lunch menu with wine pairings and was not disappointed. The space is very comfortable and bright, and the staff very engaged and communicative. Each course was obviously well-thought out and prepared and I would definitely go back.

Every time I've gone here to eat, I've had a wonderful time. The service is excellent, the cuisine is really amazing, and the drinks are nice and distinctive. There are so many food and drink alternatives to choose from that there is always something new to try. The restaurant has a very relaxed and pleasant ambiance. I've always felt at ease there, and it's also a fun spot to hang around. On a sunny day, sitting at the bar or outside with friends is a terrific way to spend time.

I accidentally discovered this place while browsing on Google maps and it instantly caught my interest, so we decided to book a table for lunch.Well, it was definitely worth coming from London and we built our weekend around this occasion which was very enjoyable. We had a 6-course tasting menu and it was amazing - beautifully presented seasonal ingredients perfectly complemented by a selection of fine wines. A special mention must go to the optional (extra charge) cheese course which far exceeded our expectation and was delicious.Nice decor and impeccable service created a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning again in the future.

From the stunning decor, the staff, the music and the plate after plate of incredible food. The sheer dedication, passion and thought was obvious in every mouthful. I honestly don't think it will be a meal we will ever forget. Thank you for your warm welcome and the extra plate of divine bread and butter!!

A Michelin Gem! Having tried to book for Lunch, with no luck - we asked to be added to the waiting list. Within a few hours - we received a call informing me that due to a cancellation, we where in luck!! (Great Service to start with!)Osip is a small but perfectly formed Restaurant - Fresh, modern and relaxed (a bit like the food) We opted for the four course lunch with an added few extras....Reasonably priced at £45 eachFresh, local and seasonal ingredients all presented beautifully with an explosion of flavours. Relaxed (but not overbearing) service was excellent with a great choice of wines and knowledge.A real gem of a place - deserving of the star and maybe another! We will be back!
