Looked for a pub en-route from Ilminster to Keynsham with a mini bus full of thirsty young footballers. Fell upon the Travellers Rest and we were made more than welcome by the bar staff. Good choice of beers and a appetising menu was noted.Fry Club F.C

Had a wonderful time here last night with my girlfriend, amazing and friendly staff who where very helpful and talkative. Food was absolutely delicious and as described in the menu and photos. I had the Travellers Stack burger and was blown away by the size of it, when it says 8oz you actually get all 8oz. My girlfriend had the rump steak, which she loved and it had hardly any fat on it. Both plates where empty! Portion size was perfect, we didn't leave hungry. All there food is locally sourced by farmers, which the land owner can trace back. The landlord has as awesome dog called Ben, which just added to the good time we had there.Would fully recommend to anyone who is near, and we will definitely be going back when we are in the area.

We stopped here after a day in Weymouth. We were very much welcomed. Ordered some food, which although seems a little expensive at first glance of the menu, when it comes to the table you most certainly get what you've paid for. The food quality is awesome, there is clearly little expense spared on the quality of local produce. It is cooked in a very homely kind of way, and exactly what I'd expect from a country pub, not a pretentious restaurant trying to be something it isn't. The portion sizes are immense, so if you've been on your feet all day, and hungry, this is definitely the place to stop. The best bit about it was the hospitality of the staff, they were so welcoming and accommodating, and nothing was too much trouble... even for our demanding 2 year old daughter.... she made a friend there I think. Another nice little touch is that Ben, the collie that resides there, will herd you up like sheep to see you out.Absolutely loved the place.

Great pub, excellent choice of cider, lovely food and super friendly landlord and staff. And as a bonus they sell cider bags and boxes to go.

·

Fantastic food; proper pub grub, very generous portions & something on the menu for the fussiest eaters. Great customer service; very friendly staff & made to feel like a regular on my 1st visit. Very child-friendly; got high chairs, a kids menu & a massive beer garden. Great as a stopping off point when travelling & well worth visiting on it's own. Would highly recommend to everyone.

A small country pub in Somerset. Popped in on the off chance that they were doing Sunday lunch which they were. Nice roast with a selection of sweets off the board. Prices average and food well cooked. A few locals hugged the bar but most of the diners seemed people from elsewhere who stopped to sample the fare (other meals available apart from the roast). Lager and ales available but this pub's speciality seemed to be cider (as you'd expect). A good selection available as well as a take out option. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Dart board and pool table available. Worth a visit.
