"Traditional country pub in South Cheriton on the Somerset Dorset border, serving traditonal pub food. A selection of real ales, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. On the cold winter days come and sit by the log fire to warm yourself through, on warmer days enjoy the garden and courtyard patio area. Dogs welcome, being a country pub how can we not allow our four legged friends. Skittle alley available for private functions, for skittles or private parties. Simply incredible. The roast is the best in Somerset bar none. My parents have driven an hour here twice to join me now! Highly recommended. Friendly staff, perfect service, lovely beer and wine. 5 star 🌟 My pooch was welcome too. Keep up the good work Richard and Rebecca 👏

We were staying a short walk from here, the food here was very nice and the staff were friendly. I would definitely recommend. Also maybe worth booking, I think we were lucky as it was quite busy

We had outstanding food here and been 3 times so far this year. Probably the best arancini I have ever tasted. Fish main course was to die for. Whomever your chefs are hang onto them for dear life!!!

Food equivalent to michelin star restaurant! Owner/chef was so accommodating to my dietary needs and I'd only booked couple of hours before! Waiting staff service first class and I shall definitely want to visit again when back in the area. Highly recommend!!!

Visited a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday for Sunday lunch. Never visited before but all we had heard was that the food was amazing. And they were right! Roast platter or a la carte menu available. Good portion sizes, lovely tasty ingredients, friendly attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

Had lunch here on a Thursday. It is a warm and welcoming place the hostess was very friendly and helpful. There is a good menu and the food was excellent, well cooked and beautifully presented.

WOW. Accomplished cookery in a beautiful restaurant/ pub! Absolutely Blown away by the food seldom seen outside of London at this standard.Friendly, unpretentious and non intrusive service. Unbelievable how cheap their prices are, Can’t recommend highly enough!We wish we could frequent here more often but the one hour drive is no issue for this treat. Sundays are booked months in advance with good reason.The lovely lady told us they have holiday lets now too so we are planning a stay very soon with a guaranteed table, we can’t wait!Many thanks, we will see you soon!

A very welcoming return visit, to a really good gastro pub. The food is outstanding, the lovage veloute with smoked eel probably the best soup ever tasted, as smooth and rich as could be created. Chicken with a Middle Eastern stuffing and hispi cabbage perfect. The burger as always rich with the flavours of the grill, the triple cooked chips crispy as can be outside soft and smooth inside.The whole finished with a lemon posset topped with granola and strawberries.The menu changes frequently, so what we enjoyed may not be on for your visit, but whatever is will be wonderful.As much as can be sourced locally.What's not to like.Booking is essential and a visit not to be missed.All the right precautions are in place.
