Whites Fish And Chip Shop in South Somerset

Friday evening, not too late, visit on the 3rd of June. Picked up Fish and Chips, twice, and mushy peas. The chips were delicious, the fish was delicious, the batter was very soft and quite greasy. The peas were not so much mushy as pureed. It didn't stop us eating it all and the level of retained oil in the batter wasn't as bad as some recent reviews would have you believe. Enjoyable but not the best they could be.

After reading good reviews thought we'd give it a try as we were down here on holiday!Chips were OK but the fish was awful, it was like rubber and I could barely cut it. Looked as though it had been cooked a few times!!

Was staying near by, popped in for some chips to go with our pizzas at the farm.Lovely chips, best we've had for ages.I had a sausage as well...I asked the rest of our party if they would like to taste my sausage, there were no takers! Maybe try a couple of baps next time.

Best fish and chips around! Definitely worth a visit!

Great Fish and Chip shop, fish always fresh, sausages, saveloys, pies are all excellent too.You won't go far wrong with this take-away!

Pop in occasionally for a treat, its always a pleasure, friendly staff, reasonably priced and loverly food. Keep up the good work. I live in lyme regis and won't eat our awful takeaways we have here, instead I travel to chard where I know the food is consistently good. If your in chard and hungry, pay them a visit.

I have stopped and started writing this post several times as I am in dispute with my wife over the slight greasyness of the chips. Her view, is the above but she still enjoys everything else. I really like the way the chips taste and the slight greasy nature of them is of no account.Will certainly be back at 'whites' soon.

When you really fancy fish and chips, you wont find it more satisfying than when you get them from Whites in chard. The best gourmet food in the world could not have tasted better! And the added bonus is how friendly and welcoming the staff are. A fabulous all round experience. Thank you!
