Lovely, welcoming and friendly little Inn. Perfect for what we were looking for as a stop while having a road trip around SE England, Would certainly recommend. Good location to reach little villages nearby to explore. We had dinner and breakfast here both lovely and catered for Vegans too. Staff were all super friendly and lovely!Room was nice and clean, basic twin room with tea & coffee facilities but again perfect for us.

We booked this hotel for a group of 10. Due to a change in our circumstances, we rang, cancelled the room with plenty of notice (over a month) and within T&C’s. However the hotel have charged us £900 although cancelled with reception, refusing to give us our money back. Have officially logged a complaint with booking.com. Amberly owner and staff not interested in resolving as they’ve taken the money. Will be seeking next steps of action.

Really yummy Sunday lunch, next level from standard pub fayre (oh the parsnip crisps 🤤) but still lovely and relaxed, my dog enjoyed his visit too. Great for a dog walk on the common and lunch. Really friendly staff too.

Friendly, cosy and food was lovely, however we hadn't been told we wouldn't be staying in the main building. Room was cold in the night and needed extra bedding available.

Loved the restaurant. So quaint around the fireplace. Staff so friendly. Looking forward to returning with so many delicious gluten-free options.

We stayed just for the one night, in the family room which has a double bed and a single in another smaller room. Fantastic views from the room. There were a couple of things in the room that probably need looking at. There’s no mirror apart from in the bathroom and the lighting in the room is not great. The shower has poor water pressure, it was only just usable. Minor issues. The breakfast was lovely. The bar had a great selection of beers on and really friendly and helpful staff. We’ll definitely return when staying in the area again.

We spent 2 nights here, celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a suite, so very comfortable, and the food was excellent. Delightful staff, too.

Although the member of staff that greeted us was very friendly, unfortunately after checking into our room we decided not to stay. It was very small and basic but the main issue was very poor cleanliness - there were stains on the throw cushions and the inside of the toilet which was very off-putting. Cobwebs in the bathroom and the whole place felt like it needed a deep clean. Thankfully the property waived the cancellation fee (booked via booking.com) but for £113 a night these issues really should be looked into.
