A real community pub with something for the local community on most mornings. We were staying locally and called in the evening for a bite to eat. Not a very extensive menu but enough to satisfy the hungry traveller and all well cooked and delicious. The place on a wet Tuesday night was empty but the staff found the time to come and chat with us to make us feel welcome. I must add the beer garden, with the best views of Stroud and beyond. We couldn't take advantage of it due to the weather. A gem of a proper pub and restaurant and well worth seeking out.

We came here after googling best beer gardens in Stroud and after seeing this place and it's isolated, elevated position we were in! The beer garden is quaint and has the most wonderful views. Facilities for kids to play and lots of nice dogs pottering around. The pub was charming and authentic. The food was great, fantastic range of ciders, ales and the like and the staff were positively affable, charming and genuine. A memorable experience, thanks! (Special shout out to Sammy).

A fabulous pub!! The food is excellent. Great selection of beers, wines etc, and the view is to die for. The two pub dogs, Bella and Boris are lovely and friendly, and the staff are fab. I highly recommend this pub.

Dog mess all over the garden from the pub dogs. Made them aware and was ignored. Not a problem, save for our two young children that were running around the garden needing to watch out for dog mess. Wasn’t even so busy with the bar that they couldn’t clean it up. Warm drinks, no ice, generally grubby. Been before, ale was so bad we left. Great view, nice people, rank pub. Won’t be back.In answer to your response:Tripadvisor’s award and my experience at your pub are two totally separate events, I don’t understand how you feel that award makes my review inaccurate?1) accepted it may not be your dogs that fouled all over the garden, your barman suggested it was yours when I raised it with him, hence the feedback.2) yep, there was one on the bar but there wasn’t a queue and more staff arrived mid-way through our visit. I have dogs, picking up the mess takes less than a minute.3) the ale was off on the previous visit, I didn’t raise it with you as you were busy that night and it didn’t feel reasonable to write off the pub on one bad pint. Hence the return trip.4) we had two gins and two spritzers, both were warm. Raised it at the time, barman said he couldn’t do anything about it. Perhaps you could have collected ice from the local shop on the way back from the dog groomer? That’s your choice as a business owner, my role as the customer is to give you feedback. The other drinks in the two rounds were lager, both were good.5) the barman didn’t ask if everything was OK as we left, if he had, I’d have politely reminded him about the dog mess and warm drinks.Rather than trying to make out that we’re the snide customers that go home and write passive aggressive reviews without raising our issues at the time and giving you chance to rectify them, can I constructively suggest that you accept the feedback and use it to improve your quality of service?

We went really looking forward to a breakfast to find out that they normally only do that on weekends....but they were really accommodating and just made one for us anyway because they still had the ingredients and it was absolutely fantastic. Really friendly place, helpful staff, gorgeous views, lovely dog and just an all round pleasant experience. We definitely want to go back soon :-)

One of the best pubs in the Cotswolds. The views are stunning and the staff are very friendly. There's a large selection of drinks from ales, ciders and lagers to wines and spirits. We always enjoy coming here for family meals, date nights and evenings with friends.

Very enjoyable relax in the beer garden. Well maintained seating areas, deck chairs and parasols. Lovely views. Attentive service at the window (due to covid 19)
