I stayed in The Loft (Old Fleece Apartments) above the pub with my two friends, the night before my wedding, and we ate at the pub on the evening. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious, service was great, ambience brilliant, and the apartment was fantastic. Thanks so much

Great lunchtime meal. Attentive service and happy to tweak menu items. Delicious food, though served on a chopping board, when we'd prefer a normal plate! 😁

I was really looking forward to visiting here. But unfortunately we were very disappointed. I visited with 5 work colleagues for a corporate dinner. On first arrival it was good, drinks were served and starters came fairly quick. However, the mains came over an hour later after we had finished the starters. And when they did come the order was wrong. A colleague ordered a burger with no bacon and no dressing on the salad, both were wrong, but we had waited so long they just wanted to eat. The burger's were rather over cooked and quite dry. The waiting staff new how long we were waiting and said nothing until we complained. This is such a shame as the place has really good reviews and was actually recommended to us by a local.

We had a great time over the jubilee celebrations. Live band and bbq enjoying the sunshine, what more could you ask for. Food was delicious, as was the variety of cocktails and the service on such a busy evening was exceptional (special shout out to Rob for looking after us). Also, we were lucky enough to stay over and the accommodation had everything you could ask for, with a kitchen and lounge area and two huge bedrooms with very comfortable beds.Would highly recommend.

The food was cooked fresh, it was very tasty and presented beautifully. The waiter was excellent. You were not rushed between courses. Nice menu.I would recommend The Old Fleece.

First time here yesterday with my brother and his wife who are regulars. I thought the place was great. The ambience, the building the food and the staff were great. We ordered a sharing camembert, fish and chips and roast beef dinner. There was a small issue I had with my food and it was dealt with perfectly. The staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. I would go back in a heart beat and highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, the evening did not start well when our order was 'lost' for 40 minutes- once it had been found, the staff could not have been more attentive. Our main man was great. However, it has to be said the 3 waiters and bar girl were rushed off their feet - felt sorry for them - the pub was packed - appears to be a general problem in hospitality section = lack of staff. The food was excellent though - 4 adults and 2 children : nibbles, mains and 3 puds - all 5 star. Visiting our son - will make this our first choice eatery next time without a doubt despite initial problem -all is forgiven. Recommend.

Called on a monday to speak to a very friendly gentleman who advised that they were very dog friendly. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and advised you can sit anywhere even with a dog which was such a lovely treat. There were 2 guys working who were always so polite and helpful. They even lit the beautiful fire for us as I was cold and asked for a table by the fire. The food was delicious. We had the fish pie and the liver pate which were great. We chose to have the mini pudding and coffee which was also a lovely choice. This place has a really friendly atmosphere and the decor is lovely. They also have nice outdoor seating. If I had any small negatives it would be nice to have a little background music and the lighting was a little bright but everything else more than made up for it. They had candles, a fire and a cosy ambience. It isn't cheap here but I felt it was worth every penny for the nice setting, the fantastic service and delicious food. Our dog was made to feel very welcome also. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. If I am in the area again I would certainly return. I didn't catch both names but thank you to Rob and your colleague for making the last night of our holiday memorable for all the right reasons.

Really cosy country feel with lovely open fire, and table service was good though we had to queue to pay. Food was delicious and all of our group were v impressed bar salad which missed key ingredient, no pomegranate. Coffee is bit pricy 3.10 for filter coffee uh?

Really great atmosphere and amazing food.I’m sooo fussy when it comes to steak but I ordered a 12oz sirloin and it was better than most fillet steaks in top steakhouses. Seriously good food and the service is awesome! My sister was also offered a great alternative after running out of a delicious meal on the menu! All round amazing. Plus it’s dog friendly- what more can you ask for?
