Called on a monday to speak to a very friendly gentleman who advised that they were very dog friendly. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and advised you can sit anywhere even with a dog which was such a lovely treat. There were 2 guys working who were always so polite and helpful. They even lit the beautiful fire for us as I was cold and asked for a table by the fire. The food was delicious. We had the fish pie and the liver pate which were great. We chose to have the mini pudding and coffee which was also a lovely choice. This place has a really friendly atmosphere and the decor is lovely. They also have nice outdoor seating. If I had any small negatives it would be nice to have a little background music and the lighting was a little bright but everything else more than made up for it. They had candles, a fire and a cosy ambience. It isn't cheap here but I felt it was worth every penny for the nice setting, the fantastic service and delicious food. Our dog was made to feel very welcome also. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. If I am in the area again I would certainly return. I didn't catch both names but thank you to Rob and your colleague for making the last night of our holiday memorable for all the right reasons.

Sunday roast, lovey staff and great atmosphere, dog friendly 🙂. Roast was nice, portion for chicken was a wee bit small (one and a half slices of chicken breast), beef roast looked great though.

Really cosy country feel with lovely open fire, and table service was good though we had to queue to pay. Food was delicious and all of our group were v impressed bar salad which missed key ingredient, no pomegranate. Coffee is bit pricy 3.10 for filter coffee uh?

4.45 Friday afternoon and in need of a bite to eat, thankfully the Old Fleece serves it's fare all day and with a full menu to choose from to boot. So we popped in on the off chance that they might be able to accommodate the two of us, we were warmly welcomed and our request for a table was sorted in a matter of minutes even though it being Valentines weekend and they were fully booked that night. We choose the sharing Vegan mezze platter which we followed with the Sweet potato and wild mushroom mushroom Wellington, also Vegan (although it worth mentioning that I am not a Vegan), however the wellington was one of the nicest meals I have had in a very long time.We had the Cormoran Rioja 2020 (so impressed with this wine I have since found out that it is available from St Austell Wines), which was well balanced with a lovely lingering warmth, the Mezze included Hummus, Baba ghanoush, sundried tomato pesto, warm Baguette and beetroot Falafels, which were especially divine. The Wellington was served with a vibrant and silky smooth red cabbage puree, saute potato wedges, wonderfully ala dente tender stem Broccoli and root veg crisps, the whole dish was not only superbly presented but tasted the same, we finished off with a Port and cinnamon poached Pear and a Orange and cardamom Panna cotta, add in attentive staff and what was just meant to be a quick snack turned into a very very enjoyable early evening dinner, with bill for the two of us coming in at under £100, it was a meal that I will long remember and the Old Fleece is somewhere I shall be returning to when next in Stroud.

Really great atmosphere and amazing food.I’m sooo fussy when it comes to steak but I ordered a 12oz sirloin and it was better than most fillet steaks in top steakhouses. Seriously good food and the service is awesome! My sister was also offered a great alternative after running out of a delicious meal on the menu! All round amazing. Plus it’s dog friendly- what more can you ask for?

Waited 20 mins to have a food order taken. The baguettes were the super cheap low quality variety, you can buy in packs and the chips where frozen oven baked ones. Very low grade food Very disappointing . Will not return again.

Excellent food, the fish pie was superb and the staff were just amazing. Dog friendly which is very important to me. Just a little too noisy for my personal choice when we visited on a Friday night but would highly recommend if you like that buzz!
