Visited the woolpack several years ago on one of the wettest cycle rides I’ve had to get a beer half way into a trip - and it’s such a lovely pub. Happened to be in the area and thought we would try the food. Firstly what a great place, nice friendly chat at the bar, great atmosphere, and no music, which is always a good sign. The ladies working the service were both absolutely delightful, friendly, chatty, and accommodating. Nothing on the menu was suitable for my partner who has a dairy allergy and doesn’t eat meat, but the kitchen were very happy to make adjustments to the things on the menu - so she ended up with a lovely cooked hake and white beans. I had the onglet, which although was nicely rare, as a result wasn’t warm enough or rested long enough, it lacked seasoning and a wet sauce. The greens weren’t really needed as they weren’t dressed and looked more of an addition than part of the dish. The meat itself and the chips were very tasty. For a starter I had the kidneys, which were very tasty, and would of been tempted by any of the starters as they looked great - the table next to us were audibly happy with everything. I think everything price wise was a both over for me, but being from the city I don’t know the prices around this area. Regardless five stars because it was great and would 100% come again. Thank you

This place is unique. The bar is amazing - possibly the best bloody Mary’s. The food is interesting, well priced and outstanding. Service is great Ta boot. It’s subtle and not glitzy and I love going there. Thank you for the meal last night. Epic Mutton pie.

Lovely food and really helpful, informative staff. Not too large a menu and what they do, they do well. We had to share a dessert as the starters and mains were generous. The wine they recommended was also very good and I felt this and the food was reasonably priced, given the great service, ambiance and environment. I'm not that local but would definitely go back to try some other food and wine on offer, as well as the local beer.

Love this pub. Proper character to it. Great food, wonderful service. Wednesday night for dinner and every table taken. Chatted happily to waiting staff and neighbouring tables.

Hard to find a more atmospheric dining room in the whole of the Cotswolds with stunning views over the Slad Valley. And in the Summer the terrace is equally as breathtaking.Staff are so friendly and show genuine enthusiasm for what they do. Food has been mostly excellent and inventive though the Sunday lunch was a little disappointing.Thoroughly recommended.

"Matrix give me classic English pub!" Said my friend as we sat down for a pint of really well kept beer. This place is packed with history, both recent and olde. It's genuinely a great pub, friendly locals, lovely staff, great beer and the food is astounding!

Quite pleasant atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, but incredibly expensive ÂŁ34 for two beef burgers and two small soft drinks.

A gastro pub more than a real pub. If you book a table outside make sure it is definitely outside. On the day I was there multiple diners who had booked outside were told they hadn't. Although to be fair they did find us a table outside eventually. Nice local beer though.
