Very pleasant venue and staff. I was disappointed by the food though. Had fried halloumi (which was nice but difficult not to be) with selection of things taken out of the fridge or can and put on the plate alingside a very uninspiring out-of the- packet tortilla wrap bread and not fresh either. I don't see the point in eating out when it's something that is worse than I would make at home.

Staff friendly, food tasty, sat outside in garden. Tables well spaced out.

·

A wonderful place to visit with a large selection of drinks and food available.

Great coffee and the best Rocky Road I have tasted in the UK! We cycle here regularly and have always had great food, drink and service.

Hi Mike. Sorry, trying to reply to your review, and can’t seem to !Sorry you weren’t satisfied. All our cakes are home made and fresh, you got me on the tea cake, that wasn’t homemade. We have fantastic feedback on our cheesecakes. Please return and try again on us. 😊.

Lovely location and set up. We had scone and tea cake. Ok not the freshest, don't think they where home made. Also had rhubarb and a coffee cheese cake. Again ok but not the best

Lovely friendly local cafe with homemade soups and cakes. We enjoyed a breakfast of poached eggs on toast and avocado and eggs. The cafe works alongside local arts centre so has a very creative atmosphere.

The food is generally great. DEFINITELY try the Eggs Benedict with hand-sliced local ham... it's not cheap, but it's oh so worth it. Pleasant surroundings and even-more-pleasant staff make The Vestry a great stop-off point. It's dog-friendly too!For me, best enjoyed either outside in the rare patches of decent weather we get these days, or inside huddling over something hot and sinful during a quiet winter's afternoon. The free wifi is a plus, too, and this isn't a bad spot at all for "working from home", although you'll want to get a feel for when the less-busy periods are: it's a tad prone to get infested by retirees with dodgy hearing TALKING LIKE THIS ABOUT OUR MILDRED AND OH ISN'T HER LATEST QUITE THE CATCH... you get the idea. Within about 50 yards, usually.

Great coffee, a varied menu with seasonal specials and a friendly welcome from the team. The cafe is in an arts centre and there's always an exhibition to browse. Love this place and so lucky to have it on the doorstep.
