The service was excellent. There were even tables outside perfect for games in the evening. Superb family holiday!

Lovely loft suite with nice small touches.Originally a little apprehensive about the stay as everywhere in Nailsworth was booked up due to the Cheltenham Festival and hearing about the lack of human contact / door entry codes.However, we need not have worried, we received the codes 24 hours before our stay and they where sent again by text as we where enroute.Upon arrival the stairway up to the rooms does seem a tad steep but we had no issues reaching the top level where our rooms were.Key code entry was a bit tempremental but more down to the user (me), not pressing the buttons in far enough, once in the room, I was pleasantly surprised, very homely, comfy bed, extra blankets for the colder days and a fan for the hotter days, our continenal breakfast for the morning after was already waiting for us, along with milk & juice in the fridge.For us the comfortable bed and the big bathroom was our highlight in the loft suite, rain shower and huge king size bed, not to mention the bathroom mirror that could be turned on/off by waving your hand underneath :-)I think some of the previous comments on other forums about the room being dated and external noise are fair, for example a couple of the drawer handles on the bed side cabinets where very loose and one came away when I was checking we'd packed everything away and the external noise for us was minimal but could be heard, our room mates in the family room could be heard when generally chatting and their pull switch for the bathroom light could be heard most of the evening - note these are not major issues and we would have no hesitation in going back there again, if not just for the bed, rain shower and lush lemon muffins at breakfast!All in all 8/10.

Stayed at the ‘4 star’ hotel as a couple in October 2021 for four nights.Paper thin walls (which have been mentioned in other reviews across different sites), so we could hear our neighbours snoring, telephone calls and TV on at 6.45am.No personal welcome from staff, but housekeeping knocking on our door asking when we would be leaving so they can clean our room - very odd and a bit unwelcoming.Cold breakfast left in the room was underwhelming (a pastry from the day before, cereal, yoghurt) would prefer a cooked breakfast.Shower was luke warm, there were biting flies in the room.The room itself was very clean, but I would recommend the host to think about how they can make their guests feel more welcome rather than a cold pastry in the room and climbing up a fire escape and unfriendly housekeeping.I understand we are still in a pandemic but there is a lot more they could have done, considering it is a 4 star hotel and the price we paid was not cheap at all.

6 stars if would be possible. Amazing hospitality, beautiful place, nice food. Genuine!Lovely and cosy, perfect spot if visiting the area. We stayed in the Loft room and if you happen to be around with babies it has a separate room just for them in baby style. They’ll love it!We also tried the restaurant and it was really good! And that said from an Italian ;)

Fantastic food really good cooking! Slight comment would be the smaller portion size - we ordered a boulebasse as main, however there was only two mussels and two small pieces of fish with some potatoes. otherwise the food was amazing.

Went for Sunday lunch. Nice light space and very friendly waitress greeted and served the 4 of us. Underwhelming crab starter but venison pappardelle main and chocolate nemesis cake dessert (gooey flourless chocolate cake that was on the specials menu and the first time the chef had served it) were fantastic. Haggis pasty special (we went the day after Burns’ night) also a hit. Good portion size - not too big - and excellent flavours. Not pretentious but thoughtfully prepared dishes and something different to the Cotswold gastropub fayre (although they did have a beef Sunday roast as a special). We’ll go back for sure!

My Wife and I love going to this restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff are really nice and know their menus. On the first occasion we visited, we didn't know what to have and so trusted their opinions - did not fail. We went again and decided to try them again - once again, we were not left disappointed and in fact wanted much more. Definitely one to recommend to people.

We highly enjoyed our stay here. What a beautiful little hotel. The deco is beautiful, clean and modern. Very convenient and spacious, with an ironing bored, iron, hair dryer, soap etc all provided. We booked The Loft - which was almost like an apartment. Kids had their own Beautiful little room with boos etc provided too. The hotel is situated in a beautiful little village. It was a shame the restaurant was closed on our stay though. However I Would highly recommend visiting the Olive Tree restaurant just a short walk away. The breakfast here was delicious and it's a eautiful little place to eat out.

Excellent imaginative food. When I eat out I want to be offered something I wouldn't or couldn't dream of cooking myself. I can find this here. The food is amazing. The staff are very friendly without being in your face all the time. We have always been made to feel very welcome. It's worth asking for wines chosen to complement your food. Having done so once we never fail to do this. They serve some excellent, unusual wine that really works with the food, making the flavours dance in your mouth. It's not the cheapest place but I think it is good value because the food is so special. Mathew devised an amazing elderflower and gooseberry desert last summer. My favourite flavours - and it was amazing. We go here to treat ourselves. We have really enjoyed our New Year's Eve offerings here too.

Food: absolutely lovely. Really full of flavour and good portion sizes.Interior: very nice.Staff: a little formal and a bit cold at first but you can tell they've been trained well in service.Value for money: prices are only a little more than regular bistro pub pricing but the food is a lot better. So yes, I'm happy with the pricing.Would I go back?: oh yes! The lunchtime menu is extremely nice.
