Kingsdown Inn in Swindon

Hadn't been here for years but met a friend there and had a meal. We got a lovely friendly welcome, the pub had a very chilled relaxing vibe, nice friendly staff and the food was delicious. Will be going back when it's warmer as the back garden area looks very inviting.

Brill friendly service and delicious pub menu

We went here after a funeral so not the best of circumstances however the staff were very friendly and helpful the tea and coffee's that was provided was good I really can't say much else. Nice place.

This pub has improved so much since last year, they have new management which has made a massive difference and everyone at the pub seemed to agree. The whole menu has changed and the food is excellent. The team and management seem to really care and the pub is very welcoming and friendly. (Dog friendly too). Looking forward to visiting in summer as the beer garden looks lovely!Show less

We stopped in on the off-chance to see if they had a table for 2 available for Sunday lunch. Luckily they did - I chose chicken & my partner chose the beef (and there was also a vegetarian option). Both meals came relatively quickly and were nicely presented with a dish of vegetables to dip into on the side.My chicken was served as a breast with a small bone (very easily removed) and the beef was served in slices. Both meals came with roasties, a Yorkshire pud, red cabbage, sliced parsnip "crisps" and a parsnip puree (and gravy of course). I'm not a big fan of parsnip, but I loved both.We then chose sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake for afters, both with ice cream (but could have had custard or cream instead) snd again both were well presented and delicious.I'm not sure how much the bill came to as my partner paid for this one. I'd thoroughly recommend - they were busy, so I would probably say either don't leave it too late or book a table beforehand.

Beautiful food and great service. Lots of attention to detail, can't recommend highly enough. We were a party of 7 and pretty much had everything from menu between us! To top it all, fantastic coffee.

New owners have made a massive difference, friendly and happy (unlike the miserable toads who ran it before) and the food is also hugely improved. Great atmosphere friendly staff fantastic food and great beer !

Great pub food, pretty good value and fast service. We love sitting in the beer garden with the old apple trees in the summer - and in the winter is so snug by the fire. Had lunch - ham egg and chips, scampi and fish and chips. Empty plates all round 😁
