Second time we visited, great experience

Excellent family day out. Really lovely interactive museum. Great day with 1 and 2 year old toddlers but great for adults and all ages between. Staff were fantastic and awesome covid cleaning and setup

What a lovely cafe above the STEAM museum. The choice of drinks snacks and meals is very good as well as being very reasonably priced. This was our first visit and we were impressed by the friendly warm welcome from the staff, the speed of service and the cleanliness of the cafe as a whole. We will be returning to enjoy it once again in the near future I'm sure. Thank you.

Extremely busy, long queues with no communication and the service was dire. If you get around that the food is sub par and overpriced. The internals of the coffee machine were dirty enough to drastically affect the taste and they were really funny about using our own travel mugs despite the fact we weren't allowed proper cups as their dishwasher wasn't working.

OK cafe, its inside the steam museum, they serve tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, and some hot food. It's not expensive and it's never busy so it's a nice place to chill out. I generally come here with the kids who bring their own food to be honest.

Brilliant cafe attatched to a wonderful museum. Plenty of choice, with choice for any appetite l.

For a lover of museum like me, this place is gold. My son also enjoys here a lot. I have a season ticket. The museum is in walking distance... So not a trouble for me going in there. I am not accustomed to the food here... It's okay for me. Not that I will crave for. Staff is good.

Food and drink ok, reasonably priced. Disabled access was disappointing - a table was preventing a mobility scooter (which belonged to the museum) getting out of the lift easily. When we raised this with the cafe staff we were told that it couldn't be moved because they may get told off for moving it, and at least we hadn't come when there was a conference on as that corner would have been piled high with stuff. Very unsatisfactory response!

Me and my 4 year old had a wonderful day at STEAM yesterday. With the help of the volunteers and with lots of room to run around, it was brilliant. We also had lunch at the cafe which was very good value for money. A great day out!

My son absolutely loves this museum.. His favourites are the footplate steam engine driving simulation, the signalling levers and the shunting interactive display. He also likes assembling the various wooden bridges. We have visited several times now, so getting an annual pass was necessary. The cafe also serves some good hot food including kid's meals. Definitely worth a visit for 2-3 hours if not more. There is also a brilliant play area in the next door Outlet centre if you want your kids to spend more time in the area. Parking is free and available in the North car park of the Outlet centre but the parking ticket needs to be validated at the Outlet centre's reception desk before returning to the car park.
