Spotted Cow in Swindon

Ordered the chicken new yorker and it tasted like it had been in the freezer for a few months spoke to the chef and she was lovely about it and said she would make a fresh one as they come in frozen and it happens sometimes but the second came out even worse. They said there give me a refund went to get it and they refunded less then half of what the meal actually was

T"was quiet on Easter Sunday with very quick service. Nice cold cider with a shared bucket of chicken wings and Texan sauce. Special thanks to Jake who greeted, seated and chatted whilst taking our food order. Place looking a little tired, especially the restrooms but all clean and paper rolls in place

We regularly eat here our favourite meal is the BBQ Burger - good quality meat, well cooked, great portions at a reasonable price served quickly

Looking forward to having a meal here. The pub website said food served until 9pm every night. We arrived to find a note on the door saying the kitchen was closing at 8pm due to staff shortages. As it was only 7:45 we went up to the bar in the hope we could get our order in before the kitchen closed at 8pm, only to find another note on the bar saying that food orders were only being taken up to 7:45, so we’d just missed the deadline by seconds. I appreciate that from time to time pubs do experience staffing issues, but if this happens then a message should be put up on the pub website advising of this and not just a note on the door/at the bar which a customer will only see when they arrive. A very disappointing experience resulting in our custom being taken elsewhere!

Great meal, staff very good especially Florrie, assistant manager who I believe has now left which is good, he was rude had no customer service manners at all, does need decorating and toilets need cleaning but as said food very good

My mother in law booked a table for the family to celebrate my sister in laws birthday, today (30/1/22)I haven't been to The Spotted Cow in several years, and I must admit after seeing the meals my relatives enjoyed tonight, we will be coming back, only tiny complaints really. . .the meat was a little too greasy in my husbands burger (but not enough to of put him off) and the sour cream was out so my sister in laws nachos were a little bit of a let down.Meals were ordered with certain requests and unfortunately this wasn't completed correctly but one meal was taken back and amended,Apart from that we enjoyed our night out.

Booked a birthday meal for my mother-in-law at the end of December for tomorrow for 16 by phone with booking accepted. We've tried for last few days to confirm (in case they had to close due to covid) and no-one answered so messages were left, but no call back. Just received text from niece who was able to get a reply at gone 9pm and was told no booking made! Not impressed. Very poor customer service. Now have to find somewhere else at short notice and we've travelled up from London!

Had always heard it was really nice there so thought would try it. my meal was fine ,but my daughters and her boyfriend was really quite unedible with the sauce that was all over it sadly. I did suggest they look at it as they hardly ate The place itself is very tired and dated looking needs a bit of freshening up inside definitely.

I felt it’s necessary to share this with anyone who is thinking about eating out at The Spotted Cow. After receiving one of the worst meals or I should say the worst meal from a restaurant. I was not happy how the staff dealt with my complaint, you had a team leader posing as a manager not dealing with the situation how she should have done, I brought the complaint to Greene Kings attention and the outcome was I was barred from the restaurant they claimed that I left the team leader feeling upset, I’ve got the whole conversation recorded so if their still sticking to that claim, I’ll post it, at no point was I ever rude or abusive. I was simply barred for making a complaint because I was severed raw food and not satisfied with how my complaint was being dealt with. Steer clear of this restaurant, they don’t deserve your custom.

Staff lovely , toilets need sorting, food was delightful. Massive portions , tasted and cooked so well. Great value for your dosh for a cheeky lunch 👌
