The Jewel In The Crown in Swindon

Good service and ambience. The two stars are only for the servers who waited on us. It was my first and will most definitely be my last. We ordered samosas for starters which I felt as if they were store bought and not made at the restaurant. Secondly the dishes were very pricey. We ordered coconut supreme ice cream for dessert which again can be purchased at any store for £1 but we were charged £3. As an award-winning restaurant it was more of a disappointment.

The reviews do not lie. Hands down the best and most authentic Indian food I've had in years. Staff were all consumate professionals, and the food is exquisitely cooked and delivered very efficiently (don't order a pint if you're waiting to take out unless you want to down it, rookie error!) I will definitely be ordering again when I'm in the area, thank you to all the staff, front and back of house. One very satisfied customer :)

A good restaurant in the neighborhood if you are looking for Indian food. Friendly staff and wonderful food options. Check out the Indian breads and don't forget to try the Madras Hot curries. Thank you for the incredible dinner.

Visited last night (Fri) and what an excellent restaurant. The decor was beautiful, staff were amazing...engaging, friendly and helpful...a big thank you especially to Bosco. The food was delicious, even down to mint tea to end the meal. Not local to Swindon but definitely worth the 40 min drive.

Very pleasant experience, friendly staff, to start the popadums with the dips so tasty and clean, then I had a mixed grill, rice and chick peas, also garlic Naan, the hi light was the Masala Tsai, made with the real spices and no teabags.. I will visit again!

Went in for the first time after being recommended. Tandoori chicken had BBQ sauce flavor and Shami kebab was just a Burger patty, not the authentic soft kebab one would expect. We explained this to the server whose reply was that they've been in business for 33 years.We asked one of the dishes to be packed, but it was disposed off. I was reimbursed in cash after requesting.Overall not a very good experience. There are better places if you're on the lookout for authentic Indian food.

We had a fabulous takeaway from The Jewel in the Crown.Everything was exactly as ordered & was exceptional value due to the 20% discount on collection orders.The quality of food was excellent & we all enjoyed the dishes we ordered.It's now our go-to curry house whenever we have the cravings.

Amazing decor, very nice atmosphere, the food was tasty and the service is excellent. Can't fault this place!I recommend it.

Nice decor inside, good service. Food was ok. Not the best but probably as good as it gets in Swindon. Did not like their seekh kebabs or lamb tasted very rubbery. The Chicken and Daal was very nice. Fresh naans and good Mango Lassi.
