Always nice to be seated at a table that no one bothered to clean. At least 6 cup rings on table with other bits of left over food. A clean table surface should not be too much to ask for. Only good thing was the bar staff and evening serving staff were really nice. On last day I was seated then I asked if I could place order and was told they had to take orders of others first. Waited till I could not wait any longer and still not even had a chance to order, cancelled the breakfast at the hotel. That will be the last time I attempt to dine at a beefeater for breakfast thanks. Not everyone has so much time to waste in the morning. Surely it can not be too difficult to take an order as you seat customers?

Busy staff do their best and are friendly attentive and happy to serve.

Awful. Service was slow, staff were miserable and food was cold, badly cooked and badly presented. Remind me to never go there again. I had smothered chicken which was over cooked, chewy, luke warm and looked as bad as it was.

Very clean.Friendly helpful staff.Great food and choice competitively priced

Exactly as you would expect from a large chain. Everything more than adequate but not exceptional. Is have to speak to the staff after dinner (didn't just have breakfast, but couldn't choose to options) as the"triple cooked chips" they promote had hardly been cooked once let alone the times.

My husband and I were at the Lydiard tonight 3rd Jan 22. We were on a date night and would normally love the service and the food here, so decided we will eat here. I had a fillet, correct me if I'm wrong but I always have a fillet steak and never ordinarily have any gristle on it but with this one 1/4 of it was gristle. When I complained to a waitress about it, she said she'll inform the chef and took our plates. No one came back to us to ask if we'd like a drink or anything of the desert menu. We waited 20 minutes. There were 7 tables and 5 waiters/waitresses. They weren't busy. It was 8pm when we got up with our coats on and still had to ask someone if we could pay the bill. The restaurant was being prepped for breakfast....they hadn't even finished having people come in for dinner!! Very very disappointed £46 for a fillet steak, a chicken melt and 1 diet coke and 1 lemonade. Was NOT worth the money

Lovely atmosphere, great cocktails at a good price. However, good was not great and took a long time. In the case of dessert we were told after 30mins that one of our choices wasn't available; this after being told that about 50% of the dessert menu was unavailable to start with.We won't be returning.

As breakfasts go this is up there. Freshly cooked hot choice without judgement if you're feeling particularly hungry and a very nice continental selection to go with it. Not forgetting great service despite me burning a croissant and nearly setting of fire alarms... ill definitely be returning

Christmas day lunchtime 2021 with the family, no great expectations based on a previous Christmas a few years back. We were all very pleasently surprised, the staff were polite, friendly and did a great job, no rushing our courses and the timing between each one was spot on. The food and portion sizes were great, we didn't bother with any food that evening as what we received lunchtime filled everyone.Only one very minor gripe from the table was the sprouts under cooked (too hard) but that's it, so a great job all round Christmas day at The Lydiard Beefeater. Thanks and well done.

Front of house could do with a bit of training on how to greet people.Waiting staff are very polite and the burger I had was one of the best I have ever had.Food presentation ain't all that but it does taste good.
