Great little pub! Amazingly clean toilets, comfortable atmosphere, standard cheap pub food, LUSH outside areaIf that's the standard, we will return over and over again(Went for lunch on a Thursday during half term with my child - he LOVED the play area)

An ok pub, dog friendly. We ordered the Sunday lunch but it wasn't the best it was ok but wouldn't order again. £8.50 for a small roast. Veg was fresh but supposed to be roast chicken and it was just chicken breast cut in pieces and a bit stingey on the gravy. I've had a lot better and paid a lot less.

March 2022. After a positive experience over Christmas we decided to visit The Runner to experience their Sunday Roast. Unfortunately they had run out of the beef so we chose Pork. Delicious......and plenty of great quality meat too. Well worth it. We'll be back.Christmas 2021. We decided not to cook a Christmas Dinner this year. Kids left home and doing their own thing and who needs 5 hours prep, 30 mins eating and a couple of hours clearing up after when there's just the tow of you. So my wife looked for dog friendly local pubs. Came across the Runner, "the most dog friendly pub in Swindon". Booked a table for Christmas Eve afternoon, selected the Xmas menu and pre-placed our order.We arrived and were instantly made very welcome. Showed to our table and Doodle was brought her own chair to sit at the table. She's a small dog. We have NEVER come across this before, most places that are dog friendly discouraging dogs on the furniture (which we understand).Starters were brought promptly and were delicious. Christmas dinner followed. Loads of turkey, v nice garlic roast potatoes, and some nice veg.Cheese and biscuits, and a chocolate cheese cake rounded the meal off perfectly. The coffee was nice too.First visit in over 10 years but it certainly won't be 10 years before we return. Many thanks to the whole team at the The Runner for a very pleasant evening meal

Once again another lovely Sunday lunch. They are dog friendly which is a bonus. The only let down ( outside of the pubs control). The brewery should fix the waterwheel in the river that runs past the pub. It looks so nice when it is running.Update: just had a lovely valentine's special meal there. The pub was nicely decorated (not to tacky), the service great as usual and the special menu to die for

Lovely welcoming pub. Enjoyed a family lunch and was able to bring our yappy little sausage dog. The land lady even went to the bother to help my 2yr old cut up his food as I had my newborn in my arms at the time. Food delicious and well priced. Definitely will be returning.

Very friendly staff, great welcome and service. Food well above expectations and delicious. Lovely atmosphere, they are very pro active in creating the right ambience. Lovely people!

Excellent food and service. Dog friendly. One point not the fault if the pub is difficulty in reaching it on foot. As seems to be common in Swindon, there is no pavement on the side of the road nearest the pub, meaning you have to cross a busy road to get there.

Priced like a restaurant but it's a pub. Asked for no peas, I got peas. Asked for room temperature still water for a child, got one from the fridge.We ordered some chicken nuggets and there were chips that looked brown because they have used the oil so many times probably. Too expensive for this kind of service and quality of food !Nice location though.

Lovely lunch with the girls from work today. I visited for the first time on father's day, the food was so nice I decided to treat my work colleagues today.They all enjoyed their meals, quick friendly service, the food was delicious - We all had something different. The portion sizes were very generous.Really recommend this place, family friendly and dog friendly. (Bonus)Look forward to seeing you soon.
