The Sun Inn in Swindon

Went back to this pub on Saturday 23rd April, as not used for many years as the food was so bad, as needed a snack after a long walk....... And it hasn't changed..... I ordered jacket potatoes, one with chilli, the other with pulled pork, one jacket was twice the size of the other, both had very little filling at all, for £7.50 I expect to see something under a little cheese, but no!!! And neither had any flavor at all, I had to add English mustard to give my chilli some sort of kick, and there was little to no BBQ sauce with the pork, both dishes were very dry.... Obviously the chef hasn't got a clue what he's doing.... !!!!

Visited 20/04/22, the ambiance was much nicer than on previous visits ( quite some time ago), the staff were engaged and ready to help, we had the sour dough sandwiches which were value for money, the chips were a little cold, but I sure that’s a one off. I would happily return in the future

Medium sized portions for big prices. Over priced food for the same quality as other local retailers. Go to the spotted cow instead if your a family of 5 not looking to spend a fortune on dinner! Its a shame because location is excellent.

Brilliant pub, great menu and fantastic with intolerances, I have a few intolerances and the menu had so much on it for a change that I could actually have. Staff were very attentive and careful as well. Will 100% go back again and reccomend. Also dog friendly which is fab

Ordered a drink and the glass had lipstick around the top. Took it back to the barman and told him but I didn't get an apology. I asked for a fresh drink and rather than bringing me the new drink the barman left it on the bar. Got back to my table and the new glass had lipstick on it too.

Been to the sun inn twice recently for Sunday roasts and on both of these occasions the meals were superb .Lovely pork and turkey roasts , piping hot, fresh and very tasty.The staff were very welcoming and friendly.Will definitely return again.

Have often driven passed The Sun, first time staying here. Wish I'd tried here before! Fantastic purpose built accomodation, separate from the pub restaurant. Pub & restaurant are great food, spacious & good value. The accomodation though is fantastic value for modern, big rooms, well equipped and private. Surprisingly large gardens & play area. Plenty of parking. Only 5 mins off the M4, next to a scenic country park and lakes, and only minutes from GWH (hospital), so ideal for early appointments. The Sun was warm & welcoming, staff ever so friendly + helpful. Clean throughout. Great value as full breakfast included.

We have just stayed here for 2 nights, we have stayed here many times before... Sadly I only gave 4 star.. This was because the bed in the disability suite was not the best, the mattress springs we can feel even though it has a mattress topper & the room was like an oven. We turned heating right down and it was still so hot.. The four stars are for the staff they are so lovely and helpful. The breakfast we always love, it is so very good . Every thing clean such a lovely place to stay, just not on this mattress or when heating is on.. Please check your mattresses they are tired.. I do feel sad leaving this feedback as I love staying at your place.. Would love to come back when mattress is replaced..

Fantastic Christmas "do" with friends from work. Food was hot, portions were generous, flavours were very exciting, staff were superb, surroundings were comfortable and prices were good. What more can you say ?

We visited today (29.11.21)...new customers and we were treated wonderfully well. A lovely welcome and fabulous service. I lunched with my 84 year old uncle who absolutely loved it. Our waiting staff member was so attentive, right down to putting the ice for his drink in a glass in case he didnt want it. The food was hot, quickly served and very tasty. Highly recommended. We will be back. Thank you.
