Bird in Hand in Taunton Deane

We are on holiday in the area and after a short walk from where we were staying, we thought we would have a drink and a bite to eat but when we got there we were told that they were not taking anymore food bookings, I counted about 3 or 4 other people in the bar (must have been really busy) and no one was eating at the time. We only wanted a sandwich or some bar snacks but was not even offered anything. This is really poor customer service as it's a prime location with passing trade, in this day and age you have cater for anyone. Will not be visiting here again.

Been to bird in hand a few times now. Great food, very nice staff nothing is to much trouble, very reasonable prices.Will be going a lot more in the future

Excellent stop off on a cycle ride. Tasty ploughman's & the beer is excellent.

The bar manager here was an absolute gem. He couldn't do enough to to accommodate us and our dogs and squeezed us in for a meal in the bar. The food was really good too! A lovely cosy pub with beams and great decor. Traditional style pub and very dog friendly

Nice pub ,good food at a reasonable price very good beer nice atmosphere but be aware due to ? Covid or staffing issues its not presently open every day of the week suggest you check first

Excellent food, wounderful staff in a lovley village pub

We were met with a lovely welcome , the fire was roaring and all the candles lit , which was absolutely lovely. We had steak which have to say was really presented on our plate extremely well , food was hot and tasted fresh and tasty. We had a pudding , which have to say we had a lovely choice .All in all we had awelcoming dining experience and would most definitely eat in this pub again without doubt , thank you

Very mediocre expected much more from the food and customer service from a great looking old country pub!!!

12 of us (and a dog) turned up without a booking and were well looked after. We had Sea Bass, Steak, Lamb, burgers and everything was perfect. The staff are lovely and accommodating.

What a wonderful pub... If you are interested in experiencing a truly fascinating pub in the English countryside, then you'll have to visit The Birds in Hand. The food is great, the prices are fair and the atmosphere is fairytale-like. If you get there, then you'll have try out their beer battered cod with peas and chips. It's awesome...
