China & China Restaurant in Taunton Deane

I would just like to say this restaurant is disgusting. The management is appalling. Ordered a large amount of food from here for my whole family. Everything came with chilli on it whole chillies on the chips and chicken. Chilli was no where to been seen on the menu or on the website. When calling up to recommend that they state on the menu that there is chilli in there dishes the manager did nothing but shout at me over the phone telling me I don’t know anything about food and they she had ‘worked there for 8 years’ and were extremely awful. I will never order from them again. The manager stated that the chips come with salt and pepper so we should of knew there was chillies. I states that salt and pepper is not whole chillies. Appalled

Would give zero stars if possible. Order a large menu for 14 people. Some chilli intolerant so ordered food that wouldn’t contain chillis or was marked not to contain them. Food arrived and everything covered in fresh red and green chillies. Phoned to let them know and was told it was our fault as the menu is clearly marked with chillis. It isn’t. The rude Asian lady told us it has salt and pepper and that includes chillis - !! Why. Why would you cover chicken and chips with chillis. She didn’t want to know and hung up. We rang back and spoke to someone very apologetic and offered us a refund which we had to claim via just eat. So we tried but they told us to ring the restaurant to refund. Again the mad Asian lady was so rude and abusive towards us we could t even explain the issue. She then threaten us with the police! All we wanted was an acknowledgment that the menu was incorrect and chillis shouldn’t have been on the food. But no we had police threats. Would avoid at all costs. 14 people annoyed that could have been resolved so easily. TwDing other receives here - stupidly after we ordered!- I can see customer service skills aren’t their thing.

Real shame.We have 3 in our dining party that are allergic to chillies. So we were very careful to ensure the items we ordered were suitable. We had ordered chicken in satay sauce (not listed as spicy) and a chicken mega box (again, not listed as spicy) and both these dishes arrived absolutely covered in sliced up chilies!Everything else was delicious, but this wasn't acceptable; so we decided to call and inform them of the danger of not advertising certain allergens and the manager didnt take this as an opportunity to apologise (which would of sufficed, no expectation of freebies) and instead yelled at us about how we didn't know what we were talking about and that the fact it says "salt and pepper chips/wings/chicken on the menu, should of made it obvious". Salt and pepper doesnt mean salt and 'chili' pepper in most peoples mind!As i mentioned; its a real shame as the rest of it was nice and the way this situation was handled really ruined the whole experience. The manager was rude and dismissive and verbally aggressive to my cousin who called to explain our problem.Awful.Take the chance at your own risk!

I complained because the food was uncooked a huge black lump of gristle in the cold slimy pork dim sum I received a nasty email back banning me and blacklisting my address .not only has that silly attitude cost them my business it has cost them the business of everyone I share my experience with . Mr lee made china China a fantastic place to eat and the food was always outstanding .and his customer service was impeccable It’s just such a shame the current owners treat customers in such a bad way .. I have also read through there reviews and unbelievable to find so many with the same complaint as me I have attached another customers complaint for comparison !I would urge anyone who receives undercooked food to to fill in the online form on the food standards agency page on the government website !they are good and respond to you straight away they also investigate the issue

My go to Chinese. The salt and pepper chicken is my favourite! Have never had a problem with my order being wrong and they are happy to change bits for me as I'm very picky! Also love the fact you have the choice of thick or thin noodles. Young girl i usually speak to on the phone is so frienly and polite(aswell as the young guy). Only downside is wait time; but it just shows how popular this place is:)

Ordered a family meal over the phone, all cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, great service as well. Highly recommend.

I'm a vegetarian and ordered vegaterian spring rolls and there was chicken and duck in it.Spring rolls are raw it's still doughy inside.The meat is really raw and drawing blood still. My partner ordered two side dishes and it came mixed and with food he didn't ask for .

Easy to get a table on a quiet Thursday night. The food arrived very quickly & was pleasant enough, but nothing special & was certainly overpriced. Think we'd try somewhere else another time...
