South Dragon House in Taunton Deane

Absolutely dreadful, I'm sorry to say. A lovely lady greeted us; however, was not the one who served us, she shouted through for another young lady. The customer service was horrendous, there were no manners and our food came out and nothing was said, it was just very hostile and unpleasant. Then when we got home and opened all the food ready to eat, it was a complete disappointment. We went for this as we are visiting the area and on the reviews it had the highest - I don't know how! The food was bland and tasted very much like it was just oil in a boil. The noodles were tasteless and the sweet and sour sauce was just like red oil. The Duck chow mein was bland and again tasted as though the oil had been spilt on it before they served it. Our spring rolls tasted dreadful and I can't put my finger in it, but I'm afraid I am very annoyed I spent so much there and can't get my money back because I didn't open it when I was there, as none of us would with a takeaway, so I don't want anyone else making this mistake. I feel physically ill and couldn't eat the food.It's a shame but I'm afraid myself and my partner felt this way.

Arrived 35 minutes early, messed up the order and food was bland and tasteless! Never wrote a review before!

I stayed with my partner in Taunton. We ordered our meals last night.The food was hot fresh and delicious.Compliments to the chef and blessings to all the Staff.Thank you all for a great experience!🙏😇❤️😇🙏

THE BEST CHINESE IN TOWN!We just keep coming back! The food tastes absolutely amazing and such great value for money too! Really friendly staff and great customer service! Never have to wait very at all long either. I wish I found the South Dragon House sooner! Very highly recommended!

I ordered a meal for collection and was told it would be ready by 8:30. I turned up just before and saw two people in the waiting area (i.e. not busy). By 8.35 they had their food and had gone, and I was told my order would be 5-10 mins. Eventually, at five to nine, we collected our food.I said at the time it wasn't good enough and in fairness to the owner he apologised and gave me 20% off our bill. However when I food home my meal and my wife's both tasted burnt. The only reason this isn't getting 1 star is because my parents enjoyed their food.

Waited a further 20 minutes to be told the driver isn't answering.Thank God the food was free after that!Not so much as an apology from the driver.The chow mein literally tasted of nothing and it was tinyChicken balls dripping in grease and disgusting. Tiny portions no way enough to feed two peopleWill never ever order from them again!

I'm sorry to say after tonight's meal one star is a bit much. Mixed meat satay chow mein tasted like a nasty cheap curry sauce from a chip shop. Broccoli in another dish boiled to a mush. Special rice dish so over drenched in the same on every meal generic sauce, disappointing ribs.... A really poor meal overall after several positive experiences in the past was quite a surprise. They refunded what I asked without argument, but it's enough to put me off for good.

We were very pleased with our meals. It is probably one of the best takeaways in Taunton. Even though the portions are smaller than in other Chinese places, the quality is definitely better. It is quite cheap as well. The only thing that could be improved is that they don't accept cards, you have to use cash.
