Brilliant staff good beer nice place not far from railway station loved it.

Nice non chain pub, good selection of real ales, local cider. Prices excellent & staff friendly.

We came across this absolute gem when visiting our friends who live locally. We wanted to get something to eat and drink as we had just driven from Poole and were staying at The Great Western overnight. This place is literally just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. The friendly bar staff made us feel very welcome and the food is highly recommended. We are coming back at the end of April and will definitely be visiting here again.

Just popped in to the ale House looking for something to eat. Menu looked OK. But boy were we surprised. I had a gammon steak and my husband had a stake. When the plate came out I knew I was in for a treat. It was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. My husband stake was so tender he didn't need his stake knife to cut it. We would highly recommend you give them a visit, you won't be disappointed. We were left alone to enjoy are meal and had a good chat afterwards really friendly staff. A real treat. Great pub, fab service, we were a big mixed group with adults and children. Good food really reasonably priced, nice space outside too. Would recommend 👌.

Went 4 a meal with the kids. I had thr steak. Was well nice. Quiet when we went too. Very friendly helpful lady behind the bar. We have been b4 for a couple drinks and always found it nice there. Must go more often. Dying for another steak. MmmmMmmmm

GAMMON, THAT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! 🚀I wish I took a picture of the plate when it arrived. Packed to the brim with thick chips, perfectly seasoned mushrooms, fresh garnish, coleslaw and a 10oz Gammon that was just 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼!The staff were incredibly friendly & the drinks were ice cold. A hidden pub gem with delicious food at great prices.
