The Green Dragon in Taunton Deane

We were appalled at the quality of the accommodation for the price.We stayed in room 5 which overlooked the rear of the building.We arrived at 23.15 and the refrigeration unit was just below our bedroom window. It was a hot night and we could not have the window open as the unit turned on and off during the night. At 7.45 the noisy extractor fan came on for the kitchen.The net curtains in the room were torn and the shower water was barely tepid at 7.45.The stairs were a safety hazard as all the rooms started on the first floor. At a point where the stairs turned a bend there was no bannister rail. We were with a couple staying in room 1 who had severe mobility issues and we we had to help them up and down the stairs.The breakfast was mediocre. Two cereals on offer with orange juice. No yogurt or fruit.Cooked breakfast was standard but not memorable. I had to ask for marmalade as only jam was available.The waitress was a sight to behold. Strappy top and shorts and flipflops. I have worked in the catering trade and this is totally unacceptable when dealing with food. To cap it all, I spotted her wiping her had across her nose and wiping it on her shorts! That is inexcusable.Unfortunately this is the only accommodation in the town centre apart from a guesthouse.This used to be a very popular place in Wellington until the management changed.

Only gave us a double bed instead of a twin room when it was requested, the room was small in size & a low ceiling caused me to hit my head on the light. The key we were given did not open the door to the hotel. The fan in the room did not work and it was 20+ degrees, the bathroom stank & was not cleaned properly. There was used tissues in the bed side table & to top it off the ‘full English’ was 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 toast, 1 egg & 1 mushroom. No water available in the morning & staff just sat in the courtyard smoking.

Came down to attend a very dear friends funeral (Paul Cox), stayed overnight, in room 3. My room was so cosy and homely. The bathroom was across the hallway. At first I did think this wasn't going to be good, but to the contrary it was so nice. The settings of the Green Dragon 🐉 were just perfect. Had an evening meal, again this was like eating at home, it was perfect. Breakfast this morning was done to perfection. I'd like to thank all the staff for making me and my friends feel so welcome. I will be coming back as I felt so at home....xxxx

A proper pub with a good selection on the menu. Order at the bar, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Doombar on draft, which was very nice.

I ate here one Friday evening whilst visiting a friend for a couple of days. I had chicken curry that was very poor. Very little chicken and a small amount of sauce. The waitress was fine but when she asked if everything was OK and I pointed out that there was not much curry that was the last we heard. My friends meal was fine. It was almost as if the kitchen had come to the end of the curry and managed to scrape one last portion.

Perfectly nice rooms for a very reasonable rate including a basic breakfast with juice and cereal.Quiet night's sleep, bit hot but most pubs are.Good shower facilities. No parking but some on the street and nearby.

Lovely comfortable rooms, nice pub, good location, as for the food shocking.The worst full English i've ever had, so over cooked and no mushrooms, evening meal was slightly better but tasteless, Thin Carved Ham was cold and straight out of a packet!!!

Had a lovely meal in here ,I couldn't believe the size of my meal for the price was very happy great staff , highly recommended will definitely be coming back again soon.

Ellie and the give a very warm welcome! Very nice hotel, with bar and restaurant, superb friendly service and great selection of drinks and food available.

Such a good pub the food is AMAZING and it allows children if you are bringing them you can choose from many different drinks plus food it is a great place
