The Greyhound Inn in Taunton Deane

We had dinner, a room and breakfast here. Both the pub and our room were clean, cosy and welcoming. The proprietors and all staff were friendly and helpful, and the evening meal was good traditional pub food with quick and attentive service. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and again quick service. Will definitely visit again!

We were showed to our seat, first in that little room, waitress went off to get something to light our candle with. Didn't see her again for 20 minutes in which time two other sets of people had sat down and had their order taken. Finally the waitress came back, still didn't light our candle but took our order. During this time the other two couples finished their main and were ordering dessert. My partner in the end went to the bar to ask where our meal was, it was eventually served and we had an apology as apparently a burger takes a long time to cook. No, our order wasn't taken soon enough.We finished our ok meal and asked for a dessert menu, the waitress went off to get this. 10 minutes later we saw the same waitress wandering around at which point we paid and left. Won't be returning.

1st visit, whilst on holiday. Great food. Possibly the tastiest burger I have ever had. Staff and owners were pleasantly chatty. I definitely recommend this place.

We stopped off after a long walk around Wych Lodge a Mile or so up the road.. we arrived just as they were stopped serving food for lunch.bless the staff who said not a problem, they would accommodate all 7 of us. We sat outside and enjoyed some really lovely food. Great prices, fantastic staff. The building inside is very well decorated and the toilets were beautifully clean. We can not thank the staff enough for serving us food after time.

Haven’t been here in years, first time I’ve been since it changed hands and has been renovated. Best roast beef I’ve had in a long time. My partner and I both had a drink each, as well as a starter, roast and dessert each, and all in it was less than £70 so good value as well

Sunday plated carvery, had beef which was exceptionally tender and well cooked. All three courses were served very promptly. Attentative service and dog friendly too!

We stayed here for 3 nights, mainly as it was near hospital father in law was in.What a find. We used to go at times to meet a friend from Taunton and it was a good pub.Our stay this time was just fantastic. It's run by a lovely family, who know how to do things right.The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The food was just superb, had dinner on first night, then breakfasts. Great choices for breakfast, try the Greyhound eggs, they were gorgeous.I can't recommend this place enough.Thank you all for making a difficult time easier

Probably 3.5 stars really. Everything nice and clean. Polite, attentive staff who didn't pester about drinks. Food portions good (not enough for me but I do eat like a horse). Deserts were not inspiring (sticky toffee pud, brownie etc...) so didn't bother, I also love deserts - my girls enjoyed the well presented, tasty ice cream though. I am unsure why the beef for the roast was covering all of the piled up vegetables either?

Visited for an afternoon meal with family. What a nicely managed very clean country pub. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Every meal that we had was excellent, not a bad plate between us all. Main courses were so good we all had to have a dessert, none of which disappointed. They were great. Definitely a public house that i recommend and one i shall be visiting again.
