The Hankridge Arms in Taunton Deane

I am respectful of people's work, really. But today I had a horrible experience with the food they served. Seafood tagliatelle are something to stay away from. Some seafood stank badly. And the parmesan is not really parmesan, unless it's parmesan kept in the fridge for months. I need something to take away that taste, and I go for a chocolate torte, however it's pink in colour and tastes like caramel, staff told me it is ruby chocolate however it has very little to do with classic chocolate. Why don't you call it pink chocolate torte, then? In the end, here comes that disgusting mussel taste, returning to my mouth like a scary nightmare. I'm hoping I survive the night...

Good food.But staff poor. Booked for 8.30pm staff called last orders at 9am and rush us out. They clearly wanted to go home. I would not recommend if you want to make and evening of it without being rushed.

Went Saturday night with my girlfriend and felt immediately welcome. Food is out of this world and genuinely I don’t understand why they haven’t got a Michelin star yet. Best meal I had in years, warm and welcome, staff make you feel like you are at home . We will definitely go back again soon

Got a recommendation from someone in Taunton as we were looking for a good place for Sunday lunch. They managed to squeeze us into the bar.Sunday lunch was really good, my to lamb was perfect, the pork looked great. Sweets were excellent, treacle sponge with custard was a real treat.Will definitely be there again, next time we go to Taunton.

Lovely old pub, great staff, and great food. Just off the M5 near Taunton, loads of parking. Would highly recommend.

Lovely setting. Beautiful pub. Amazing service and food was delightful. Would defo recommend....keen to go back and try the roast...was drooling over the plates coming out with roasts on them 😋

A hidden gem with great food, you get way more than what you pay for. Good beer and great service this old world pub right in an industrial estate is more what you would.find in a quaint little village. A great find and a perfect place to stop for a bit of food and a decent beer after a shop

Lovely old building rather incongruous in a modern shopping area. Very good efficient and friendly service. Enjoyed our lunch. Wife had the slow roast pork belly and I had the fish and chips, could not fault either.

Lovely outside area to dine, love this building, very beautiful. Menu good but a tad expensive for what you get. Was disappointed that my mussels had quite a bit of grit in them, I did mention to the waiter but he didn't really respond. My partner had steak, which was OK.

For a pub in the middle of a retail park, we would have probably given it a miss it it weren't for the other reviews.The food here is brilliant! Cheese souffle to start is amazing, and the fresh catch and the belly pork mains were fantastic.The food and drinks aren't particularly cheap, but well priced for the quality you get. We ordered 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains which came to around £65, which wasn't too bad.Dog friendly in the bar and garden.Staff all very friendly, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is grassed and surrounded by a hedge so it doesn't feel like you're in a retail park. Would return if in the area again.
