Monday night , 1st ever visit. Went for dinner. We had the burger meal, ribs and chicken Pie. Food cooked perfectly to our requirements. The burger meal was given a 9/10 by my teenage son, a top-notch mark indeed ! Very friendly team , good beer and open on a Monday!! We shall be visiting more in the future.Have returned for dinner and again great food and service. A great new local.

owner took a serious unliking to the younger of the clientele, he kicked us out after an evening of us buying drinks from him constantly. At the end the owner got aggressive and decided to step into the face of a young lady and not back down. Terrible service and awful pub. Wouldn’t recommend.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend. The starter , garlic bread was really disappointing, full of oil and very bland tasting. The log fire was a lovely gesture but unfortunately it made it smell very strongly , which resulted in me having a migraine. After an hour of waiting for our food, we asked how long our food would be, and was told it most likely going to be a further 20 minutes! We can completely understand that it can be busy and food waiting time may be longer, however most tables around us had arrived after us and was being served their food. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave as this is long wait for anyone , let alone for a young child. When we told a staff member we was leaving and would like to pay for our drinks. We didn’t have an apology nor did anyone come over to sort out payment. Two of the girls just stood and had a chat, looking over. After waiting so long , we walked to the bar where it seemed to a pain to the bar man for us to separately pay , so we had to make one payment and sort it all out ourselves. We still got charged for 1 meal we never had!Definitely wouldn’t go again!

Looks nice in there now it's been refurbished but food was poor I ordered a Thai duck curry was very small portion I hardly had no meat and was just full of runny sauce I was still hungry after. Menu limited choice and expensive. I prefured the menu they had before food was way better then too.

Myself and family went for a meal 22/7/21 place looked lovely. Ordered steak ale pie.2 fish dinners .1 lasagne and 2 burger meals.we were then approached by the acting manager to explain they had no cheese for the garlic bread and cheese .then 5 minutes later .approached again by acting manager.to explain they had no can opener to open the mushy peas the meals were brought out to us .the 2 burger meals were an absolute disgrace the burgers were burnt .the lasagne was over cooked .dry and crispy .I would recommend that nobody ever eats here

Friendly pub staff and quick service of reasonably priced fresh food. Some local sourcing of ingredients, pub has a car park and beer garden.

Stayed here whilst visiting the area in April 2019. Rambling old building with lots of character and period charm in a sleepy village location just a short walk from the West Somerset Railway station. Evening meal was great, bar well stocked and cosy and prices reasonable. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Minor issue with my room booking but I got upgraded as a result so no problem there. Bed was very comfortable and room had everything I wanted. Being an old building there are a fair few steps and differences in floor levels but that's part of the charm. Excellent cooked breakfast which also catered for vegetarians (we gave them notice though). The only points that stopped me giving a 5* were the noise in the morning from the kitchen extract fan below my room and the shower - the blast from the water was so strong I had trouble keeping the shower head in the holder! Would certainly stay again.
