Great food at very reasonable prices, Top class service. Our Hosts were super friendly and Efficient. A pleasure to dine there and will be doing it again soon.

Food is fresh and wholesome. Extensive menu. Children welcome in dining area and beer garden (not bar area). Very popular with regulars and locals - may need to book a table. Won several national awards with previous owner. New owners as from December 2013. New manager - very welcoming and friendly. Can only think some of the reviews here are for a different Merry Harriers. Merry Harriers, Clayhidon, is well worth a visit. Real fire, and no piped music or gambling machines.

had fish and chips with my husband, sorry to say the fish was really watery and not cooked, maybe was from frozen...don't know. but we still needed to pay for it. shame as I only heard all positive for the food there.

Brilliant place. Friendly landlord. Really good food. Family friendly in day - ignore the no children sign it is left over from old landlord. A great place to snuggle into in the evening.

Walked in with my partner and two children and felt we shouldn't be here. Staff were very rude and made me feel I should not have brought my children in. I even left half way through with my youngest who was being very well behaved and left my partner and oldest child to finish their lunch. We were not spoken to once and put in the back of the pub around the corner out the way. Not friendly for families and as we were on holiday was unaware we should have booked. Manager asked if my children were staying for dinner when said yes our experience went down hill. Food was average fatty beef and a ok ploughman's but have had much better.

We went there for our aniversary. We where so happy and on the begining with the drinks not a problem, but when our main meals came it was bad. I had curry and my husband had fish and chips. My curry was like from the value ready meal but edable, but the fish was not cooked and when my husband called the owner to complaint he told us the fish is perfectly cooked and they prepared it like that for years. The fish itself was watery unooked and still cold. We presumed it was straight from the freezer. Do not go to eat there because you can get some food poisoning. That ruind our evening.
