The Mount Restaurant in Taunton Deane

What a diamond! Haven't been in this restaurant for far too long. Our usual haunt for Sunday lunch was fully booked so we opted for here and how glad am I.Great decor, friendly welcome from the lady front of house, who was obviously knowledgeable of her wine list when we were making our decision. We had a glass of red to go with the roast beef, cooked pink, as stated in the menu ( although you can request it to be more well cooked ) the cauliflower cheese was divine as was the light fluffy Yorkshire pud. Plenty of gravy in a boat too so you can add as much as you wish. Couldn't fault it.Had a delicious crisp white with my cranberry bakewell tart with orange creme.All in all a great lunch out and I can't wait to go back. Thank you

Well the Ring of Bells couldn't fit us in (Sunday) and this was a great find. They always do good food from memory and this is now our go to for Sunday dinner 👍. Great food & wine choice with a very knowledgeable waitress. Just perfect 👌. We won't leave it so long the next time.

Excellent table service (attentive, responsive and prompt). Excellent wines and guest ales. Food was superb, with generous portion sizes. Some more more delicate flavours (eg crab starter) a bit overwhelmed by accompanying stronger flavours. We'll worth a second visit

Can't speak highly enough of this place. From the minute we walked in the staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive and extremely professional and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely exquisite. We went as a small party so we had pre ordered but I don't like garlic so when we sent in our pre order this was clearly stated and the chef bless him made sure non of my food contained garlic and substituted it with other flavours. My advice would be be to book a table and give this fantastic restaurant a try.

Definitely would recommend dinning here. Party of 11 for roast dinner. The beef was tender cooked perfectly & locally sourced, crispy fluffy roast potato's & tasty cauliflower cheese. Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. Reason 4stars given & not 5 is due to the gravy coming out cold and then taking a long time for it to be reheated and returned to us so that we could start our dinners. Party of 11 all served at the same time, my sister had the pork and the crackling was amazing! Would return 100%

I had the distinct pleasure of eating here recently. Starter of baked camembert with the chilli adding to the balance of flavours nicely. Following this a lovely mushroom tart, make sure you use a good amount of the sauce as it really lifts the tart from very good to excellent. I had a shiraz with the main and continued with the cheeseboard. The same chilli jam as with the camembert but also a quince jelly which was lovely. Not cheap food but top quality. Try it...you deserve a treat.

Great local bar and restaurant offering some of the best food for an excellent dining experience, fresh, great quality and able to tailor to your dietary requirements or food intolerance. Staff offering first class service for a friendly and entertaining visit, will definitely return

Excellent Sunday lunch for 6 here. Meats were cooked to perfection and accompanied by generous portions of veg and gravy. Friendly, efficient service and a very pleasant unfined citrus Abor Ale to wash it all down. We'll come again.
