THE WHITE HORSE INN in Taunton Deane

This is a lovely village pub. Bursting with quintessential British picture postcard beauty (even on a rainy day). We visited lunchtime on a Wednesday and only just got a table, as it's very popular, so I'd book in order to avoid disappointment. The food was what I'd call proper pub grub, with a reasonable price tag. Plenty of beers and wines to choose from at the bar. Overall, fantastic value. The only negative was that where we sat in the bar area was quite cold. If the heating was pumped up, it'd be a five star rating.

Fantastic place to eat. Food was incredible. We were a large party of 12 but had messaged through the day before with our order. The staff has sent me a full menu and the specials so we could choose. This meant our food was almost ready on our arrival. Fantastic when there are young children in the group. Staff were very friendly.

Wonderful Steak and mushroom pie and vegetables. What a good chef .!! Lovely very busy atmosphere.

Great pub. Friendly staff, lovely food, good selection of beers and cider on tap, pretty location if you fancy a walk.

Good value for money and plenty of food in Sunday lunch. Excellent variety of veg. Only downside was the gravy was a bit greasy. (needed separating)

Lovely food, good service and friendly staff

This inn really lives up to the country pub 'experience'. The friendliness of the staff is so infectious. We sat at a table in the garden, but the interior is equally wonderful and inviting. We hadn't booked in advance, but the service was nonetheless excellent and very efficient. The food is fantastic value for money compared to nearby establishments, with great choice and huge food portions. Would certainly return and recommend to others.

Went there on a Friday lunchtime for a birthday and was extremely pleased. The food was of top quality, good portion sizes and hot. There is a nice garden out the back with seating. The staff were very friendly and there were plenty of signs regarding mask use. I will definitely be going again and would recommend them to everyone.
