Visiting area. Had lunch. Similar menu to my local H&W pub so couldn't resist the steak and ale pie. Good as ever. Very good

Limited menu, when we visited mid day for roast dinner they had already sold out of all roasts already which was disappointing. The service was extremely slow with us waiting well over an hours wait for our food.Getting a staff menber over for a drinks order was a task, and in the end I had to keep my hand up waving as we kept being ignored. The chairs were very uncomfortable and we had been put on a corner table with very little space. The food was good and the pub itself is beautiful but I wouldn't recommend if your in a rush.

It was a nice Lunch.. although my roll was a little dry. The pie my friend had was delicious. The service was quite good, although our waitress did forget to return with sugar! LolThe manager came round and chatted which was nice. The place was busy as half term. It was pleasant over all.. thank you …

I do like this place a lot & if I lived closer I'd visit often. Great staff who are accomodating... I booked a table for midday but my companions were running late, it was no problem at all for them. Good food selection from main & children's menu. Only grumble is pre-salted food ...Wheelchair accessible, kids play area, great ambience & good pub grub. 10/10 for a Saturday lunchtime.

Received fantastic service, despite turning up early for food we were seated and served drinks. As always in a Hall and Woodhouse, the food was fantastic. We're moving to the area shortly so looking forward to this being our local.

It was so nice to take the whole family to such an inviting pub. Great food, nice location and a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to taking other family members there soon.

The kitchen staff here are very good, and we enjoyed a very tasty meal, that was prepared in very short time. However, the front of house staff were very disorganised. We were told we couldn't have food, before they even checked to see if we had booked, which we had, and the place was empty anyway. We had to ask to get our table cleaned, we were then coated in cleaning spray as it was a windy day, we then put in a food order at our table, we then were told to go and put food order in at bar, we then were asked for table number, so I walked back out to look for it but there wasn't one. It was soooo disorganised it was quite comical, but the food was really good. So no big deal!

Good quick service. Staff friendly, not too pestering. Okay food at reasonable price. Excellent showcase of local history and heritage. The walls tell a story or two. Good facilities and seemed relatively covid safe. Very dog friendly inside and out in the beer garden area. Small enclosed area with play equipment amazing for small children. Overall very good; I would recommend.
