Cromwell Arms in Teignbridge

Best pub lunch I've had in a long time: it's not often I clean my plate, but I did. The service was super impressive. Nice music too, mix of 80s and 90s.

Myself and my two daughters had a lovely midweek stay at the Cromwell Arms. A charming 17th century Inn on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. We stayed in the triple room which was spacious, clean with basic facilities, all I wanted for our break away. Excellent value for money, our stay included breakfast which was cooked to order and served promptly. Extremely accomodating staff who gave my daughter the time and privacy to sit an exam while we were staying there. Ample parking to the rear of the building. If you are looking for a value for money break in a beautiful part of the world you will not be disappointed xxx

Staff friendly and helpful in all areas; there were sadly some areas of cleanliness that for a minimal expenditure would have elevated score to 5. Some were rectified straight away for which I thank the staff.Shower too sloppy for an elderly person like myself a £1 shower mat would have corrected this; Lou brush minging Wilco do a .65p new one; waste bin £5 from Asda looked like a sledge hammer had been taken to it; lampshade ripped Wilco could replace for about £4; empty shower gel replaced; chipped mug replaced; no water in room £2 for 12 bottles Tesco; no hot chocolate available; worst of all no pillow protectors and one pillow heavily stained and unhygienic; dust a plenty and for someone with a dust allergy not good news. Mould in shower tray; stayed in heaps of dog friendly places and did appreciate chefs providing sausage at breakfast for dog. Not the best overall experience sadly. Finally as a suggestion perhaps offering light snacks at lunchtime, ploughman’s toast Ed sandwiches would for us elders people be very much appreciated.

After living in Devon for more than 30 years I found this lovely countryside inn right on the edge of Dartmoor totally by chance. The staff (especially Nikki, Leonardo and Chanel) are all super friendly and helpful and the family room we stayed in (2 adults and 1 - 6'4" teenager) was massive. In all I cannot fault the hotel at all and the only thing I can think to write to balance the review is that the quality of the room is not as good as the quality of the breakfast. Literally the best scrambled eggs I have ever had. We will definitely be returning. Oh... and we thought the massive keyfob was especially quaint!!!

My partner and I started in The Cromwell Arms for one night but definitely will come back again! The room was clean, spacious and bed comfortable. Breakfast absolutely amazing! We had dinner there too which was delicious!Landlord and the team take care of us and make sure we are looked after.5 ⭐ highly recommended!

Bar, rooms, beer and food were all good and the staff were brilliant! All were very friendly, hard working and helpful. The evening meal and breakfast were cooked well with a good choice of both on offer, the room was plainly furnished but spacious and clean. Good value accommodation in a traditional old pub in the centre of a traditional Devon town.

Stayed here for four nights on a family trip. The room was spacious, the location was in a lovely quiet little village and the staff were superb. The manager Matthew was also great - went out of his way to make sure we were happy with everything. Also, their breakfast was super generous. Would recommend.

Looks better on the outside than inside.Drinks a bit expensive for the area &very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime ..only one other table occupied inside .. so quiet you could hear a pin drop .. maybe some background music would help ?At least the two young female members of staff were having a great time throwing beer mats at each other across the bar.Thought we would try outside but there were dirty plates & glasses left on the tables attracting flys & wasps .. the whole outside area could do with a good tidy up ..we drank up & left.It's a shame because it has the makings of a great local pub .. maybe the fact we only saw about 10 other customers sums it up.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and basic, as was the food menu. Only complaint was the time it took to serve breakfast.. Went for breakfast at 9 am and ordered porridge and a fry up. The Fry up did not arrive for over an hour!!
