Mei Lai in Teignbridge

Lovely food. Ordered a delivery as we were staying at at the Welcome Holiday Camp in Dawlish Warren. Every dish we ordered was so tasty. Excellent service. Will definitely order again next time we visit.

So sorry about this but in the past loved the food but tonight was the worst food you've cooked for us in the last year you said it would take 45 min 15 min later it was here and it showed very disappointing 😞

My god the best i have ever tasted and i have tried many. Very busy and you can see why. I dont mind waiting when it comes out so fresh and so good. 5 stars is not enough believe me.

The boss of this shambles should sack the staff and get real Chinese chefs not a bunch of amateurs having a go at it .Low standard Chinese food if you can call it food at all . Totally over priced for sub standard produce .You would be quicker driving to Wolverhampton and getting it there .It’s a shame it could be a fantastic place with a bit of hard work effort and thought .

We only every order a mushroom curry as it’s vegan, but it’s great every time

First time ordering from here one of the worst Chinese Takeaway have ever Chicken curry was like it was from microwave Fried rice was very bland and for the special chow mein just rong £30 on the bin sorry never again hope this helps

Telephone order, the girl on phone was a dream, very sweet & friendly, first try, prawn curry, consisted of runny nasty stuff with just lumps of raw onion, fried rice, oily & nasty! Second try, a month later, why not?food however, dreadful again, prawn balls? Overcoat of soggy thick uncooked yeuky batter, mini rolls, hardly anything inside, soggy batter stuff again Sweet sour sauce, smelled & tasted like washing up liquid, mostfood thrown away -£15 down the drain, never again Mei Lai totally yeeuk!!

Just moved to Dawlish thought we would give it a try, Chicken Chow Mien full of mushrooms and great big lumps of chicken that had been boiled to an inch of it life and a sauce i have never had a chow mien with sauce or mushrooms. special fried rice just tasted of stale water like the rice had been left in damp conditions for hours. I have to say the worst iv had. should of guest when i walked in there was not one Chinese person in there just young girls and boys.

Been using this chinese for over 10yrs always found it delicious, untill now. We came to dawlish in November 2021 used Mei Lai, had Singapore fried rice, which was tasteless & clumpy, shredded beef (what beef) & prawn toast (what prawn) it certainly wasn’t up to usual standards. Came down for 2 wks end of January thought we’d give it another go as it could of been a 1 off. BUT NO, lukewarm shocking Singapore fried rice it lacks taste & clumpy, again shredded beef was lacking beef & same with prawn toast, no prawn, also how can you ring your order & it be ready in 10mins. So obviously no freshly cooked. what was once a lovely Chinese it is definitely no longer.I guess they have changed the chef, we drive by everyday & it’s always empty when it used to be that busy you’d be queuing outside.

Visited this place and this just started off bad. Got kicked out the shop instantly all food collections have to be handed to the door apparently. A friend of mine found a hair in his egg fried riceA great deal was spent here and the only thing actually edible was the fries but they were stone cold. Would be avoiding for life.
