Venue needs a good clean. Starters were average. I had scallops and hate the legs left on! They were gritty and not impressed. The rest was medioca. Have had better!

I visited the Phoenix in Chudleigh on Wednesday 16 October 2019 in the early evening, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place.I parked in the street right outside the restaurant - parking was easy.The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized pub style main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service.The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.I enjoyed a baked camembert sharer for my starter and a delicious chicken burger with added cheese and bacon with a side of onion rings for my main course. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid around £25 for two courses and drinks.Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again.
