Great food and drink, especially the tomato and basil soup. Bar staff friendly and welcoming, some serving staff not as much; would return though. Outdoor furniture could do with some repairs such as the long bench.

Great place off the beaten track, stuning view, very older wordy, log fires, warm welcome.Lunch cream teas and evening meals available good menu selection, they also have special night such as Indian night etc.Would love to return and maybe stay the night in the hotal, a hidden gem

The most glorious place! Fabulous staff, super food, beautiful cooked and presented...all set in a magical setting. Such a lovely touch too, having a dog duvet, bowls and nibbles for the four legged friends, in our room. Cannot recommend this more. This is our 3rd stay here! Happy and blessed New Year!

We just had a delicious meal here tonight, after passing it along the route of a 9.5 mile walk across Exmoor. We couldn't have asked for the service to be any warmer or more welcoming. The building itself is beautiful, full of very happy customers, and the food was fantastic. The only problem is that it's 50 miles from where we live, but we will definitely be travelling back multiple times this year, now that we've found it!

After a long walk along the river came back to pub weather was great so sat outside the pub the food was fantastic. Staff was very polite and attentive great atmosphere in bar area.Such a nice setting near the river.Absolutely loved the seating outside tables made of slabs of stone.

The Inn is at the bottom of a single track lane near the river with limited parking across the road however the is lots of parking at the top of the lane which is about a 5 minute walk down to the Inn via a separate path leading directly from the car Park. There were lots of people having cream teas using the outside tables, the cream tea and scones looked lovely but I can't comment as we visited with friends for Sunday lunch after walking by the river. Most of us had roast dinner There was a choice of meats available. The dinner was good but not the best and some comments were made about the beef being tough. Staff and service were good. It got a bit cold inside as the door was open for staff serving outside and I guess to keep Covid safe. Cream tea next time !

Had an amazing meal at the Tarr Inn Restaurant today. Staff were lovely and very obliging. The food was delicious and me and my family really had a good time. The vegan pasta bake was so tasty and I was so happy to find such a good vegan option in the middle of Exmoor! I hope to return sometime soon :)

Lunch for my partners birthday..very disappointing..not a great choice for lunctime menu..ordered a bottle of red wine ( Appassimento) which was so awful tasting we left it on the table..(yest the whole bottle). We made the waitress aware & she just said you ordered it & offered nothing else..I feel sad about the whole experience as I love Tarr Steps location..the walks..but i would not return there on principle & nor would I ever reccommend it..so many other lovely places to eat & drink locally.

Fantastic location for some fantastic food! Price is slightly on the premium side, but the location and the quality definitely reflects this. Tarr Farm burger with added bacon and cheese was delicious. We arrived near the end of service, but were welcomed and served very quickly. Not a complaint to be had around the whole table.

Had a really nice lunch here. Great food at a good price. Sat in the garden with lovely views, and when the rain started the staff helped us to a table with more cover from the rainso our baby didn't get wet. Good quality food, unfussy friendly fun staff. Must come again.
