Fantastic freshly cooked meal, excellent service, thatched pub with a lovely log fire. Our 3 dogs loved their gravy bone treats! Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming, we had an awesome evening xxx

We tried to book a table for ten for a meal and were told this was too many people for his staff to cope with, after explaining that we have just been to spread the ashes of a dearly loved family member the landlord had absolutely no sympathy for this at all. If I could give this establishment 0 stars I absolutely would!!!

First time visiting. I felt Covid safe the food and drink was lovely and it had a welcoming feel. A modern taste in an old country pub. We shall definitely be returning soon!

Idyllic pub, in an idyllic village, on the edge of idyllic Dartmoor. Wish it was my local. Had lunch here last week in the pretty beer garden on a glorious September day. Calamari were quite incredible, I could have stuffed them down until they came out of my ears! Pan-fried venison haunch with red wine and juniper jus was also an absolute triumph. The dogs usually get a wee tidbit, but this was just too tasty, so I gobbled it all up much to the hounds' consternation. I was a bit surprised to tell you the truth about how good the food was as I think I've become so used to pub food being rather disappointing and uninspired. But this was a memorable lunch all washed down with a few cold Tarka lagers in the sunshine. What a great day it was!

This is a great pub. We stayed here in August and despite being very busy, the staff looked after everyone really well. Food is regular pub dishes but all were good. Beer and cider is excellent. It had a really nice garden and is in a lovely village with great walking in all directions.

My Husband rang at 9.30am on Sunday and they had just had a cancellation so we were able to book a table for 12.00 midday. We were greated by a waitress and I would think the manager. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and we chose inside. We were given the drink and food menus and given a few minutes to browse. The waitress then took our drink and food order. The drinks came almost straight away and the starter (salt and pepper squid) which we shared came very soon after...it was piping hot and very tasty! We both ordered roast for our main meal and it was delicious!! The veg was perfect with a nice crunch, the beef was really tasty and the Yorkshires were huge!I had lemon possit for dessert and that came with some fresh fruit a two shortbread biscuits. The whole meal was fantastic and we can't wait to go again!!The staff were very friendly and helpful, the tables were nicely spread out and the toilets were very clean and smelt really nice.I would highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful place in the most stunning location. We walked from Bovey Tracey to Lustleigh and were treated to one of the best pub lunches we have had. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the burgers. Will definitely be returning.

A charming little hamlet with lovely scenery including an apple orchard. The food was fantastic and Covid guidelines were well worked. Great beer garden or sit inside amongst the beautiful building and fireplaces. A must visit for all the family and dog friendly. We will be returning soon.

Lovely pub with good home cooked food, nice ales and friendly staff. It’s just opposite the church with parking outside. We reserved a table earlier in the day and I am glad we did as it was pretty busy mid week. The food couldn’t be faulted, and the service was well timed, relaxed and friendly. The restaurant is a good size with plenty of space between tables and a good atmosphere.Reasonably priced for good quality food.
