Had burger which was OK but don't think the sour doe bread goes that well with itMy husbands fish and chips were excellent . Its a bit dark and cold in the room behind the bar for having meals . But the staff were very friendly.

Quirky atmosphere, ice food, friendly staff and very reasonable prices - can't really ask for more!

Lovely atmosphere and quaint little pub in Ashburton. Food was bog standard comforting pub food, which is something that I desperately needed after a long car journey. I didn’t see any gluten free options or vegan options on the menu the day I visited, which would have been most welcome, as I suffer with a number of intolerances. The food wasn’t the best, but the staff made up for that with their positive attitude. Overall I loved the pubs atmosphere and theme, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating! Would visit again for a nice pint, but not for food. 🍺

I really loved this place the owners Chris and lettie were so welcoming the food was amazing so tasty they couldn't do enough to help us we had dinner and went back two days later for breakfast. the conversation about many things was great the place is themed on the sherlock homes novel hound of the baskervills which is based on dartmoor I would definitely recommend this place it's great for dogs to as they are just as welcome as the humans and I hope next time I'm in the area I will visit again to see Chris and lettie and their beautiful dogs snow and poppy

Friendly service, generous portions of food (I recommend the vegan puff pastry pie), and a nice old feel to the building. Also a great (and slightly eccentric) collection of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia...

Food is always very pleasant and the staff will bend over backwards to get things done for you. Warm, cosy and unique atmosphere owing to the Sherlock Holmes theme. Dog friendlyIn addition to food, they have a well stocked bar and a great selection of ice cream to take away.Pictured : Steak and eggs from the breakfast menu.
