Lovely welcoming place, great room with fantastic view. They had saved us a table by the fire where we had a lovely meal, and breakfast was also made to order. Great find in the middle of Dartmoor

The overall experience was fantastic. We booked last minute and managed to get the last available room (room 3) which as the largest room and tremendous views over Dartmoor. We had great breakfasts cooked by Wayne. The food was the best pub food we have eaten. Excellent fish and chips and large portions of apple crumble with custard. James and his team were all very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb beer. We will be back!

What a lovely place to stay. I travel a lot with my job, but this place really stands out. Wonderful and accommodating staff, amazing food, great beer, friendly locals and an incredible setting. It speaks volumes that they were full booked when I stayed there, fully deserved. If I'm back this way, I'll 100% be staying there again. Loved it.

Lovely friendly and welcoming pub. Fire was roaring at lunchtime which was wonderful after a long walk. Lots of great beers on offer and a varied menu of good pub grub. Only knocked a star off as I had the gnocchi which was very disappointing compared with other dishes my friends had chosen.

Very welcoming pub. Lovely fires. Lovely staff and the food was amazing. Welcomed our little dog also and gave her some treats. Can't wait to come back.

Had Sunday carvery last Sunday with my dad. Made to feel very welcom. Chef cut the meat for great service. Could not fault the meal in any way. Homemade gravy was excellent. Oooh and Devon Red CIder on tap was very refreshing.

Called in recently for lunch after a winter walk. Very dog friendly, staff lovely and the food was excellent. Since the last time I visited pre covid the pub has been modernised and has a fantastic atmosphere. I will be visiting again very soon. Highly recommended.

Lovely room with amazing view, food was amazing highly recommend the pork belly and chicken chorizo. Landlord and chef were lovely and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Can't wait to go back.

We highly recommend this place. We stayed over night in a very comfortable room with an excellent breakfast in the morning. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Had one of the best evening meals we've ever had which I've pictured, chorizo chicken with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veg. Will definitely return...

A traditional country inn in Manaton, Dartmoor. The inn makes a great base for exploring the moor particularly with all the footpaths and bridleways nearby. The accommodation is perfect for a chilled stay with excellent food and traditional beers in the bar and restaurant. Make a reservation and get there early as it is very popular. The staff are lovely which made the stay even better.
