First time here & glad we went (for father's Day). Staff were amazing, food was lovely, beer was very good with a great selection. Thanks for making us & our baby feel so welcome

Had dinner one Saturday evening. Generally very good, but no hint of a refund when we pointed out the greaseproof paper left on the burger. Awesome whisky collection and a fab location.

·

What an incredible pub. Food, accomodation and the best selection of whisky this side of the Scottish borders.

·

One of the meals came out with grease proof paper still on the burger. Lots of excuses around poor staffing but no apology. The steak and ale pie tasted like it had been sitting around for a while! Indigestion all night. The vegan burger was tasteless and gloopy. 3 out of 5 meals poor. The Jail ale was still good if you just wanted a drink.

This is a great pub. Good food and a good selection of beers and wine. Their interesting as they have hundreds of whiskey's behind the bar to select and choose if your into that. The pub however is very traditional and if your looking for this it's bang on the mark. Highly recommended a visit if just a stop I. For a swift one.

The food here is just too good for it to be a sleepy country pub, but thank God it is. The pudding was one of the best I've had, anywhere.Un-ruined, old fashioned Devon pub ambience. Please, please never change this place.

·

Might just be the cutest pub in Devon - food was lush, the ale was stunning. They've got more whiskey than I've ever seen and they have a dog called barley that comes and greets you at the door!!!!

·

A beautiful place to be - such genuine old fashioned charm and great decor. We loved the candles - they really add to the ambiance when a place is genuinely old.We had Sunday lunch here and couldn’t fault it. The staff were attentive and helpful and the food was sublime. This pub is dog friendly and the owner even has a lovely little doggy!(Incidentally this is a proper pub - a free house - with an VERY extensive range and superb understanding of their trade).

·

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here - small, trendy starters and very generous main courses. Lovely interior, helpful staff, very reasonably priced for a 4* hotel! Will definitely be coming back 🍽🍻

Wonderful staff and food, plenty of choice of spirits and wine, also very good choice of beer especially their St. Austell stout, I would certainly recommend it.The staff could not do enough for us and very cheerful about it quite obviously enjoying their work or so it seems. A very happy experience for my birthday.WE WILL BE BACK!!!
