The Rising Sun At Woodland in Teignbridge

This is an absolute gem of a pub. We wanted to try somewhere different that catered well for vegan/vegetarians and I'm so pleased we came here! The service was incredible and the food did not disappoint - honestly one of the tastiest veggie meals I've had when eating out. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Really lovely food and excellent service. We didn't want long for our food and our party of 10 all had lovely got hot dinners which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend

Myself and my family have eaten at this pub numerous times over the past year or so. The new owners have a done a fantastic job of renovating the place, the food is excellent and you couldn’t ask for a nicer countryside setting. Today we had Christmas lunch and it was brilliant. Thank you again, we had a lovely day with you.

Lovely place! We come here when we can. Very welcoming and friendly staff with great service and great food and drink. We had our Christmas dinner here and absolutely loved it. The gardens lovely, it's a vast outdoor area, theres even somewhere to park your horse (post and rail with hay nets on the grass). If this place was closer to newton abbot town it would be packed all the time but it's in the beautiful countryside and makes a great stop for running, cycling, riding, car or motorbike clubs. The family have put alot of work into making an amazing pub, well worth a visit! The menu's changed since covid but the food is still spot on. Its been great seeing this pub get more popular as people discover it but its surprisingly spacious inside and never feels overcrowded even when it's busy. Highly recommended 👌

First visit in over 5 year, and what a magnificent change. The Rising Sun is now a modern light and airy Pub selling unpretentious great food. With 7 people eating we had a good range of the menu from traditional gammon to Mediterranean chicken flatbread, each plate of food was plentiful and delicious. We will be coming back again.

What a little gem of a pub would highly recommend to anyone. Lovely and welcoming food scrumptious just what we needed.

We had 2 families eat and drink in this wonderful pub. The staff were amazing, very kind and extremely attentive. The food was fantastic and we all had such a lovely experience. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality meal with fantastic service. Such a lovely setting too! Excellent prices too! We will be back!

We have been here a couple of times now and the food and service is fantastic. Really can not fault the place and will be back again soon. They also have a good selection of vegetarian options which is good for my daughter. They are also willing to adapter the meal like giving smaller portion of a main meal for a child and reducing the cost. Will defiantly be back. Sorry there’s no photo I was too hungry 😀
