Staying at camp site decided to go for evening meal. Ordered 1x chicken pie & 1x haggis. My pie was a chicken stew with a piece of pastry cut from a sheet of pastry placed on top(not a pie) my wife’s haggis she said was just not very niceShame really as it looked like it should be a nice pub to have nice food. Maybe the chef had an off day but for me it’s too late as next time we’re in Cofton I’ll eat in the other pub. 2 stars because the staff were nice. Should add this was in March this year. Just looking up something and it reminded me of this that’s why it’s taken a month

Amazing food & excellent service. Homely country pub. We didn't get to take photos of our Thai Crabcakes starter as we just dived in before snapping pics lol Main course was piping hot & puddings to die for! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lovely old fashion pub.like stepping back in time. The fireplaces are beautiful and the glow of old fashion stove is so welcoming on a winters day. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Lovely pub, us, and our dog, were made to feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and as for the food! I had sea bass and my husband had venison steak both from the specials board and our meals were out of this world. This is by far the best pub in Cockwood without a shadow of a doubt. Don't get your heads turned by the other pub, or, like us in the past, you may regret it!

Great menu, food really good especially the Laksa which is nice and spicy. Had the Gammon steak several time. Really good. The Steak was good too, tasty and tender. Chips are always well cooked. Plenty of good Beers and a few Ciders but no real West Country cider, which is a shame. Staff are friendly and helpful but can get a bit stretched so be patient after all it’s a nice place to sit and have a drink. However social distancing was difficult and staff weren’t wearing masks. I didn’t see any hand sanitiser and the toilets are outside where it’s very cold, so hot water is hard to find.

We dropped by on the off chance and were not disappointed. The menu is extensive and the food was very good and excellent value. It's a lovely, traditional pub, no fancy frills or gimmicks.

Walked in on the off chance of a meal at 8pm, lovely old style pub with good beers, ciders, lagers on tap, they found us a table, Very friendly staff, excellent food, can't rate this place enough, will definitely go there again, the picture of the whitebait was already half eaten, there was plenty on the plate at the start 👍

This place is amazing, the ale is good and the food is brilliant. I had the ploughman's which was a delight. Their homemade pickled eggs are to die for, couldn't find out what they pickled them in though, trade secret.
